I'm now using PTP Ver. 11 and am thinking about moving to Ver. 2013. I checked the "What's New in the 2013 Version" but could not find any mention of being able to control PTP from a midi controller. I need to be able to control each of the 16 midi channels during playback using something like the Behringer BCF2000 or Korg nanoKontrol 2. Is that supported in PowerTracks Pro?

One solution i have found and it works with almost anything you want it to is, if you have a smart phone or tablet of anykind. Download Spashtop 2 to that device, and add the splashtop hoswt program to the computer and you can control the whole shebang rom the smart device. In fact you can control the computer for all reasons. This is done over your home wireless network (if you have one set up.)

Thanks Robh. I want to use PTP to play my midi file backing tracks during live performance. My laptop computer is connected to my Yamaha Tyros 2 keyboard. I play the keyboard and sing as the computer plays the midi backing tracks on the same keyboard. I need to have real time control over each of the 16 midi channels (especially for volume). The mixer window in PTP does this very well using a mouse but during live performance I don't have time to control that way. With 16 hardware faders such as dual Korg nanoKontrol2s would have, I can do the "tweeking" as needed. Perhaps some kind of virtual mixer on a pad would allow me to do what I've described also. But I noticed a post somewhere in this forum group that PTP does not have the Mackie standard or any other protocol that would allow hardware midi control surfaces to communicate with PTP. I guess that's my real question.

That is why i use my Ipad for that. I can open up splashtop, and set the view to mixer, and all the sliders work in real time. Just remember that is dependant on there being internet connection, unless the ipad has a data plan connection.
You can also get the android version on googleplay for those with android OS.
The cool thing is that you can setup there streamer app on any of your computers and control them on your network.
Not exactly what you want but it works.

Thanks for the Info. I really like PTP for what it can do. I guess we can't have everything. Actually, my Tyros 2 has an onboard sequencer that is a very good midi file player. I can play them from thumb drives, an internal hard drive or the keyboard's flash RAM. So I'll use the Behringer or Korg controller and have most of what I need.
I appreciate this forum. It is most helpful for us PTP users.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
