Hi,
I created a BIAB song from a midi file. When I try to fill out the lead sheet with all the info, I get this error message>
From can not be greater than thru
?????
Also, I have many jazz standards that I am trying to write the chord symbol>C7+4
It seems this isn't possible, or at least I don't see it written in the Chord grid, can someone tell me how to do this??

If you want raised 4 or 11, enter C13+11. If you 4 in the chord write as the previous poster, C7sus. Ray

I'm a simple man, I hate chords that go too far above 5 notes not including bass (six strings is all I have to work with  ) I'm waiting for jazz'ers "too cool for school" and "above the riff raft crowd" to start writing chords all of the time like C21/b19th

C7b5 should do the job for you given the augment 4 and flattened 5 are enharmonically the same.

Ed, in the context of jazz fakebooks I've seen, I think 7+4 is interpreted as, add a fourth to the seventh, or 7sus4. In BIAB, just enter 7sus, as mentioned above.
/Rant On/This is why I never use the plus sign. Maybe, just maybe, they mean for that + to mean major 7. Or maybe sharp 4, otherwise better voiced as sharp eleven, or enharmonically flat five./Rant Off/
I still think you want a plain 7sus though.
Do you have an example? What's the song? I'll look at my copy and see if I can tell from context.

Larry, don't be dissing a great chord. After all, a chord can be simplified by subtracting seven from any number over seven. Hence, your C21b19 is a common C14b12 chord (of course it is - you knew that!). Cheating a bit, we can reduce further to C7b5. Just get someone with very long fingers for the proper open voicing.  Hey - it's been a long day...

But Matt, I think the intended C21b19 is to have all the thirds in there, so that's all ten fingers on a piano isn't it? can't wait for a 23rd chord then only jazz players from the X-Men School of Jazz could play oops have to edit: a C21 chord already takes eleven fingers so to save face I'll claim the bass player has the low root 1st covered

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
