lance,

COOL! A great listen!

Love your vocal. Real rock'n'roll...

Nice job on the big drum thing. And the horns are nicely done. There seems to be a guitar that follows them - did you play that?

So, what is left of BIAB tracks?

Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to more. Where are you fishin'???

Hi Lance.

Welcome to the forum. Yeah, a cool track indeed and an excellent first post.

A big, BIG, backing and a great vocal which, for me, could have been a bit louder in the mix.

Like Floyd, I'm already looking forward to more.

ROG.

Lance,

What a great first post! I like it a lot. The drums are huge & happenin'... The horns are cool too. A good vocal as well... Like Rog I could have used a little more volume on the vocal track, but that may have been the mix you were going for.

Thanks for the positivity fellas. Profile pic is a sturgeon from Rainey River between Baudette and Fort Francis!!
Getting levels right is always a big challenge. I love the power of a percusive music track but mixing in a well defined vocal. Dave Pensado where are you when I need you??
BTW-backing BIAB tracks where the country ensamble, steel, drum, bass, dreamy guitar(i think). Im upgrading to ultrapak 2015 mac when it comes out. This is saving me considerable time on my demos. Ill always play some tracks myself just to keep it sloppy!!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Great. Slightly spooky vocal. Fun. Can't make out much of it though.
Liked Johnny Ray too. But I need the words also. Cheers.

Great stuff.
Vocal a little lost in the mix, no big deal.

Hello Lance,

We don't know if this is very hip,..... but it's very, very original. Well-done!

Lance,

I'll just echo what many others have said about your vocals; really nice and gritty and seems to fit the song. Kind of reminds me of Jon Bon Jovi, and that's pretty good company. wink I would suggest the winds in the track are mixed a little loud and so seem a bit overbearing to my ears. Perhaps some other stuff could have been mixed a bit better to get a balance too but overall, a VERY solid first effort.

Kudos to you and your artistry! Keep on churning out the tunes; you have a nice style! smile

David

Lance,

You know what's great about first efforts? That means there surely will be more to follow! Yea 'cause I like your style.

I like the out front kick and percussion.

By-the way, another song on your Soundcloud, "Tim's Final", is nice too.

I have to echo all the other's kudos for your first post. Thought I was getting a chill but realized it was just a reaction to the fishing photo. ;=)

What I did get from the song, the way you used the horns and the timbre of your vocals was pleasantly reminiscent of some of the work of Blood Sweat and Tears.

Enjoyed this and like the others, looking forward to more from you in the near future.

Charlie

Hi Lance,

Great first post. Nice gritty rocking vocal sounds super for the style except that it's too low in the mix. Love the drums and overall sound.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
