Good morning and Happy Holidays! (A non music-related question.) I recently bought the 2016 EverythingPak on the mini usb drive. I was going to copy that drive onto another drive for safety's sake and I'm concerned I deleted some of the original files. If I click on "properties" on my bb folder - on the mini drive - it is 98.8GB in size. It has 122,214 files in 4,953 folders. If you open that folder there are 9,958 items. If anyone has nothing better to do can you verify that that is approximately what should be there? Thank you for your time from a green northern Michigan. (12-23-2015)

There's a bunch in there....I'm not about to count them.
As for me, due to size of the file folders, I simply do a basic install, which puts the operational files on my HD and I run ALL of the real tracks from the factory HD. Due to USB speeds, there's not a big issue with loading times.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Thanks for your response. I didn't COUNT mine either. I also run BiaB from the external drive to keep space available on my main system. That actually wasn't the question. I'm just wondering if I lost some of my files. Thank you anyway.

If you registered your EverythingPAK serial number with PGMusic, then all the installation files that comprise the EverythingPAK should be listed in your account on the PGMusic website (which you access from the main pgmusic.com site; however, the login for your account is different from the forum login). If you are worried that you are missing files, you could take the time to download everything and run the installers back to your USB drive.
It will take awhile to do, but it may give you peace of mind.
When I get my USB drive, I always install/copy to a different drive so as to make sure I keep the original. But then again, I'm somewhat "backup obsessed".

OK, I'll bite. Never fear, I didn't manually count them; my Total Commander utility did.
On my working J:/BB folder, I currently have 9857 files. That number does NOT include any in the subfolders. A few dozen of those are my user styles and a few .PAT files I have written.
On my supplied USB drive straight from PG Music last week, there are 10,055 files, NOT counting any in the subfolders. The /BB/RealTracks subfolder alone contains 1511 subfolders, each with tons of .WAV, .WMA, .TXT and other files.

Thanks, John. The problem arose because I was making a copy of the drive and I think I might have 'cut' some files instead of 'copying' them. I printed out a list of everything that should be in the folder and I will be downloading them this weekend. (I have 2 external drives with redundant backups of my system and 2 with redundant copies of files/folders. I know about backup obsession.)

Thanks, Matt. I'm pretty sure I still have everything that I started with but I won't be 'happy' until I download everything and re-install it. It would be a problem if I had a life I was missing out on.

If you think you deleted something, BIAB has a menu command for "What add-ons do I have?". Run that.

That looks correct. If you have installed the latest Dec 2015 RealTracks patch, there will be approximately 123K files and 5000 subfolders in the bb folder on that HD.

Andrew, that MUST be a record number of files for any software ever, right? Call Guinness.
Thanks for all you do for us. It is most appreciated!
Matt

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
