Hello!

I´m planning to do some screencapturing from Leadsheet-window in Fakesheet mode for sightreading practice.
(I use fakesheet mode because I don´t want any visual lead-in bar)

The "song" is one chorus without any repeats. And when the "song" is going to end I want the sheet to stay at the last bar. And it does. However at the very last bar it shortly shows the beginning of the song and then returns to the last bar. Here is a video. The "problem" occurs at 01:34

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEg_dnKYtoc

Any ideas?

There is a viewing look-ahead setting in Preferences. Not sure where from memory; I'll look later. Perhaps reducing the amount or turning it off will give us a better clue if this is a bug.

Thank you! :-)

I´ve done some "research", but no luck in Fake sheet mode regarding my little "problem"

Here is an example when I do the same thing in Lead sheet window (Fake sheet mood unchecked):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ9lqO1mKYA

I also plan to do the screen-capture from this window (Fake sheet mood unchecked), but then I´ve got the lead-in bar visable/shown. The good thing is the highlighted(red) notes. For beginners I think that will be very helpful. I believe it´s not possible to get highlighted notes in fake mood. So far I haven´t figured it out.

You're killing me with these long videos of whole notes (but I skip to the end).

Yes, try Preferences, Notation, and look about a third of the way down on the left for Scroll Ahead. Set that to None and report back.

It´s alot of whole notes :-)

Now I´ve tried that and when Scroll Ahead set to None the Fake Sheet ending is ok. After playing one chorus the sheet stops at the last bar without any "problems" earliar described.

My wish is to have the end like this and still have the scroll ahead (2 bars).

Sorry to say... but I guess I´m not a relialbe source right now because I´m switching from Build (437) and Build (429). So I tried your suggestion on Build 429. :-/

Thanks for reporting back.

I'm going to pass this along to the developers. I use the 2-bar lookahead and agree it could be improved at the ending.

Also please consider my comment in your other thread about what I think 'beta' means.

Melodicamaster,

From what I understand, Fakesheet Mode was essentially designed to work in conjunction with 'Fakesheet mode' on the main 'Chord Sheet' view.

This, in turn, is a function of repeats and 1st/2nd endings.

Because of the above, it might be that Fakesheet Mode in the Leadsheet is limited with what it can accomplish if you haven't used 1st/2nd endings, etc.

Regards,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
