I can believe everything but the guy singing the song. If he were moving around away from the mic the way he was the vocal would be all disjointed. More than likely he recorded it and then lipsinced the video.

I'm sure that's possible. I just thought the guy who did the instruments and put it all together is pretty good.

Yeah, it reminds me of the time Paul Mcartney did his one man band album.

With no sound background at all, it's just incredible to me what can be done.

Man, the guy singing lead is doing a bangup job on probably some of the most difficult imitation possible. If Boston ever toured again, and Brad Delp refused to join, they could sign up this guy. Not quite exactly the same, but very respectable. When I watch it, it doesn't look lip sync'ed at all. The BGVs of course are overdubbed and harmony parts. But this guy is not lip syncing this particular track - at least not the whole thing. He is working the mic pretty well - note that it's in a different studio than some of the other stuff. All of the video shots show some amount of 'redo' as is to be expected.

The ONLY problem with the sounds of the video, IMO, is the fake organ. If Jon (they guy who did the video) would have used VB3 or B4, he would have gotten a more authentic organ sound - particularly on the glissandos.

I'm impressed that he got that thick over-saturated sound out of a strat. I was trying to see which pup he was using. There's one shot where it looks like he is using the neck pup. Likely using a amp simulator of some kind that's got 'Boston' presets. The little rockman that Tom Scholz used to sell would do a respectable job at that tone back in the day. I remember when I got my first electric guitar, that was the gear I lusted after - belt mounted rockman.

I also didn't expect a Ricky bass.

I've got to get some old Boston on CD. I forgot how much I love that song.

Great song and a decent cover, as well. Also, a sad reminder of the death of Brad Delp over two years ago now.

The Backgounds maybe thru a harmonizer. That was a very good Boston clone.

Doesn't get much better than that song. That video was pretty cool - I think it might amaze people who don't do as much recording as we all do here a bit more To me it looks like another day at the office

As for that strat tone - I dunno, I guess each to his own - to me, it was much too fizzy. Didn't sound that thick at all. Of course, I could just be spoiled because I get some serious thick tone from my strat. Strats + Hiwatts pretty much eat Les Pauls for breakfast I always did like the Rockman sound, though I find I can get the same thing only "more" with a regular old triangle Muff and a light OD stacked afterwards.

Also this video made me really crave the Ricky bass. I've never liked their guitars, but their basses are fantastic. Our bassist has been lusting after one... Maybe I should push him a bit harder ha ha

Sad story, this is from Brads Wikipedia:

On March 9, 2007, Delp was found dead in his home in Atkinson, New Hampshire.[4] Delp, who was 55, died from the smoke of two charcoal grills he lit inside his sealed bathroom. He was found by his fiancee Pamela Sullivan lying on a pillow on his bathroom floor with a suicide note pinned to his shirt stating that he was a "lonely soul." The official cause of death was listed as carbon monoxide poisoning.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
