I have 5 billion VST's installed on my computer and trying to locate them all to install on daws and programs like BIAB is a huge hassle. Some programs are better than other at locating them without any help and some will not load them even when given exact locations. The best DAW at finding VST's, in my opinion, is Mixcraft. I have used this program time and time again and never once had to show it where the files were. It just found them and I was able to use them. Even ones that are deeply buried within the files system of Windows. Now, if this DAW were a little better at music production, again my opinion I would not have this problem. But, Currently, I have the use of several DAW's on my system and until I find that golden one I keep looking. I have Reaper, Mixcraft, Tracktion, and Realband. The latter really sucks at finding VST's along with BIAB. It just is such a pain in the rear. Why? Don't know. This happens because you buy a new VST and install it and just keep clicking yes, yes, yes and it puts it wherever it wants. Yes, I'm lazy that way. Is there such a program that would find all the VST's and present them in such a way that when I try to use them in a program like BIAB there easier to find? Hopefully, you all understand what I'm talking about. Thanks

I always put my VSTis and VSTs in specific folders.
64 bit VSTis go into C/program files/VSTis
32 bit VSTis go into c/program files (x86)/VSTis
64 bit VSTs go into C/program files/VSTs
32 bit VSTs go into C/program files (x86)/VSTs

This way everything is organized and easy to access.
If some of your VSTis or VSTs do not load they may not be compatible with that DAW.

Some VSTis have the dlls in a folder with other needed files. You must move the entire folder to the appropriate folder the I mentioned above.

This works for me and hopefully it will work for you if you choose to go this route.

Good luck.

If you're looking still, PM me if you need a full licensed Cubase 10 PRO FULL retail, MAC and PC; got 2 never used legal licenses on the shelf, about 100 bucks below the standard prices ...
BTW For now I work with the very stable 9.5 still, as 10's first release has far more and worse deadly bugs than BIAB 2019, and the license is valid for all them older versions too. Bonus is you'll get Halion Sonic SE3 included, one i always use with BIAB, IMO simply the easiest to work with and best sounding GM2 synth. F

Search *.dll and you will find them along with tons of other dlls. OR in your DAW(s) look where the location folders they are finding them, write down those locations or screen print, then move them.

Thanks, but I've as we say shot my load for spending the rest of the year now. I've tried Cubase in the past and wasn't that installed. If somehow I could get a mixture of Reaper and Mixcraft together that would be perfect. I got caught up in the moment as they say and spent well over a thousand dollars on my musical hobby this Christmas. Not only did I buy the Ultra Pak but I got all the other extras this year. What the hell, you only live once. I spend well over 800 dollars this year with PG Music.
On top of that, I went over to Izotop and bought both Ozone 8 and Neutron 2 full advance versions. Thank God for upgrade prices. Then I went over to Native and bought some Strings and couple other of my favorite places to by VST's and boom. When I say you only live once I meant it.

Yea, I finally ended up doing that. STill would help if I were more organized.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
