Is it possible to enter 4 chords in one bar in RealBand? For example:
|C _ _ _|F Em Dm C|
SO far I can enter only two chords in one bar:
|F Dm |

I also would like to do syncopated chords:

|F _ 0/Dm _ |
Thanks in advance. :-)

For a chord on the 2nd or 4th beat, separate by a comma. Ex: F,Em

For syncopation try using ^ (1/8th note push) and ^^ (1/16th note push).

For example, entering F (space),Dm will put the F chord on beat 1 and the Dm chord on beat 4. If one enters F (space),^Dm then F is beat 1 and Dm is beat 3.5 (i.e. Dm is "pushed" so that it's played an 1/8th beat before beat 4). From my limited experience with pushes, their effectiveness seems to be style dependent.

Sort of in relation to this, in a four-beat measure, is there any way to enter eighth-note chord changes? In other words, say a measure of [ C - F - Dm - (G# - G) ] , with two quick chord changes on beat four corresponding to the last two eighth-note beats in the measure ? I've had instances where I wanted to do something like this but didn't see a way to accomplish the task.

Only if the chord of the next bar is the same as the last chord of the first bar.

So using your example, [ C F Dm - (G# - G) ], as long as the next bar stars with a G, you can enter the first 4 chords on beats 1, 2, 3, 4, and then in the next bar, enter the G as ^G (which is a push to move it back 1/8th beat, effectively making it the "and" of beat 4 on the previous bar. That's a lot of words, but hopefully that made sense.

Otherwise, you can't really do 8th note chord changes...

...except... Norton Music has a number of "expanded styles" that basically let you use 2 bars to represent 1 bar. That gives you 8th note resolution. Your notation won't look right, but it will sound right.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
