You should be able to download everything except the actual audiophile tracks now.

I did not receive a tracking # via email but my drive arrived day before yesterday.

hello, i just got the USB audiophile package via FedEx.
now THAT company IS impressive.
and so is PG music. lol.
thx, for the positive feedback.
I'm now updating the Drum and Real Tracks files manually, as this was to the only way last time, I got a decent result.
there are still 60 files N/A, and all seem to be from the bonus paks, etc.
will get back to you once I've finished all the transfers.
thx, robbo.

cheers mike.
yup, my mac pro is a bit old now, but I'm between a rock and a hard place if I want to buy a current mac pro.
looks like next year b4 mac pros with M series CPUs will be available.
not much point in buying the Intel version.
this old one has plenty of RAM and SSDs throughout, so it is quick enough, atm.
I'm not really interested in the BinaB app as much as I am in the AIFF drum files and the real tracks.
all the projects I do are transferred asap to logic pro.
i like to try to match the project tempo in logic to the original tempo of the drum tracks. this way, I can copy the entire drum file in logic, then cut it up finding the sections I need with no quality loss.
very manual .lol.
regards, robbo.
(the last tune I posted on my YT channel has just topped 10,000 views. it uses drums and harp from BB.)

Ok, I’ll bite. Why do you need the next (unannounced but Cook has promised it) Mac Pro? Do you have PCIe cards that you need to host or require more than 8TB internal storage?

The new Studio blows the current $53K MacPro 7.1, 28 core away except for the high end AV rendering required by motion picture and animation studios (these are the same uses that require a $150K 56 core MAYA Box rendering Station running Windows 10). When twin dual-GPUs and the Turbo card are required, the Studio with the M1 Ultra can’t keep up. It outperforms the $42K with the single high end GPU, however.

Seriously, I’m curious. I’m trying to decide between the $5K loaded Studio Max and spending $3k more on the fully loaded Ultra (are my AV rendering needs really that intense?). I do need 8TB storage onboard and think that upgrading my 18 core iMac Pro is not worth the $2,300 it would take. Apple now makes the 8TB SD kit for the MP 7.1 available separately but I’m not up to the task of installing it myself in an iMac Pro — it’s a 2-handed job, not a luxury I enjoy. Better to sell the iMP or use it in the classroom if I go back to teaching this Fall.

None of this is necessary for BIAB as you’ve correctly observed but some of us have other needs. Just interested what yours are.

mike,
thx so much for your valued input.

video is important but not a priority. YT videos, etc.

the money isn't that bigger deal to me.

i do a lot of orchestrated tunes. symphony orch. types.

so, it is more important for me to have very fast throughput and processing.

i never use the BB plugin. way too slow.

I've been doing this on a pro level since the late 60s.

ahhh, tape and analog mixers.

some suggestions would be appreciated.

kindest regards.

I agree with Mike - unless you absolutely need the level of expandability that the Pro has (and subsequently don't mind spending at least double the money) it makes more sense to get the Studio, or even the M1 Mini if that fits your needs. And you'll save about $40k too, if Mike's math is correct.

If you're doing strictly music production, you honestly don't need a Mac Pro. Even the M1 Mini will power through everything you've got and then some.

hi simon.
thx for the input.
i'm "waiting and seeing"
my old mac pro STILL does all tasks well.
the SSDs - all 16TB of them - really help.
a new Silicon mac pro could be overkill.
extra RAM, as well.
most of the problems are solved now as I've added the 49pak.
I've manually sorted all the real tracks/styles out.
took a while.
thanks for all your help.
best, john robinson.
btw, simon, a tune I've just uploaded to YT, has garnered over 10, 000 views.
it uses the BB harp, drums and bass, vibes too, I think.
sounds great.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
