+1. Lots of people do musical things with their Ipad.

+1 also. Not sure how different the code base would be to Mac, so it might be reasonably achievable.

Sure, this would be nice, but I have to wonder about two things: how would the performance be (I’m guessing terribly slow) and would it support RealTracks (I’m guessing they would require too much space). Perhaps a MIDI-only version to use as an idea scratch pad would be good?

No question that storage would be an issue. External storage might be a workaround?

It'd be interesting to hear comments from Peter or Andrew Agreed. It would be great to get a comment from the development team on the feasibility, issues, prospects.

It's quite possible that a feasibility study alone is a significant task.
Embarcaderdo say "One Codebase For Windows, Android, iOS, macOS, and Linux", but we also know that the Mac version of BiaB doesn't offer everything the Windows version does and there's no Linux version, so "One codebase" would appear to be overstating the reality.

Even if I’m correct that an iPad is underpowered, it won’t always be so. Doesn’t BIAB work now on a Surface, or is it a Chromebook? Something like that. The tech should catch up someday.

I believe some of the new iPads already use an M1 CPU, so it probably already has the power.

M1 chip? I didn’t know that. Thanks. I’ll take a look at the new iPads.

I've had BiaB running on a Windows Surface Pro, which might be seen as a 'comparable equivalent' of an iPad.

I would sell my soul to the evil itself for having BIAB on IOS
MacMini M1 - BIAB2021 - Logic Pro X - iZotope Music Production Suite - Scaler 2 - far too many Waves plugins and Line 6 Guitars and boards + a fantastic Yamaha THR10ll mini Amp - Avid MBOX Studio
Peters' Garage is available on all major streaming services

That'd be awesome!
I thought I would need a lot of space for sound samples when I got the iPad Pro 2nd gen 5 years ago, and I have only used 1/4 of 256 GB.
I can fit the UltraPAK+ there right now.
Now there are plenty of good synths, pianos, wind instruments, and even real good old samples that don't need so much space as before, even more with Modeled instruments, as the new iPads have a lot of processing power, and mine is still a beast.
There's a lot of people doing amazing jobs on iPad with apps like Audio Bus for mixing different in-App or external sources.
I got a Yamaha PSR just to have fun sometimes with accompaniments and to avoid the computer, but nothing compared to BiaB.
Using Band-in-a-Box with as many features as possible in a small iPad would be a dream, be it either with a full sized keyboard, a 37 key CME using BLE, or even 1 or 2 ROLI 24-key Seaboard also with Bluetooth Low Energy (Low Latency included). Touchscreen for chords. Amazing.
There's an absolute hole in the so many existing Audio Apps for iPad for playable accompaniment.
That would probably also make developers more prone to enhance the Mac version to support Native Silicon development instead of Rosetta.
+2 +3 ;-)

I would sell my soul to the evil itself for having BIAB on IOS Thar she blows: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/band-in-a-box/id397173717Can’t say I really see the point of such a client/server version, though, and the iOS app doesn’t recognize my Mac as a server and so is useless to me.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
