Just wrote this one Saturday night, and mixed it tonight. Something uplifting and fun.

The World Keeps Turning

I put about 8 tracks of vocals on it. All the instruments are RT/RD, arranged in BIAB, then took wav files into Sonar 8.5 Studio and added the vocals. Mixed and mastered in Sonar with my Toshiba Satellite laptop and one mic (AudioTechnica AT3525).

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks!

Steve

A very good song indeed! You've manipulated all those RTs real well. The vocals and whole mix are first rate, lots of energy. Well done Steve.

what can I say Steve.fabulous production really good song and a vocal that is perfect for this kind of country song. The lyric is exactly what you hear in modern country music because it paints pictures that everyone can relate to.You obviously have a talent for production because playing your songs in my studio on my nearfield monitors proves that point. Why you havent been signed is a mystery but if you keep this up Im sure it wont be to long before you are.+1 cheers Frankie

Hey Steve,

Good job! I like this very much! Has sort of a Keith Urban thing going for it. Nice work with the RT's, mix, vocals. Just very good from top to bottom.

You've nailed "uplifting and fun", all right. Excellent production all the way through. You've got a great ear for arranging, and everything sounds organic as you move from one section to another, and one instrument to instrument. The song feels very polished, with something interesting always happening, but never overpowering the lyric.

I especially liked where you decided not to rhyme the lyric.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Very nice Steve!

I love the arrangement. All three of the guitar breaks sound uniform and intentional, the vocs fit nicely and the harmonies blend nicely.

What RealTracks did you use? How did you get them to behave so well together?

Hi Greg,

Thanks so much for listening! Glad you like the song. Very flattering to be compared to someone as talented as Keith Urban.

Hey David,

I really appreciate your good words! I always value your input. Have a great day!

Robb,

Thani you very much! To get the RT's to behave so well together, I used the "rod of correction" Seriously, I am big on NOT prejudging what will sound good together. I constantly experiment with different variations of instruments. Don't just let one listen determine whether 2 instruments will compliment each other. Sometimes if you regenerate, you will get an altogether different part that does work. So it just takes patience and persistence. And really listen to the overall blend of instruments. Don't just pick a guitar part because you like that part, unless it is going to be the dominant part. I really try to pay attention to how the parts sound together as a whole, not just individually. The bottom line is what sounds good, not what looks right on paper. And with all the RT's available now, it is an incredible playing field we have to play on now!

Here are the RT's I used...
Bass, Electric Uplift EV16 #1268
Piano Acoustic, Solo Accompaniment PopCalifornia EV 140 #1005 (on verses & 1st chorus)
Piano Acoustic, Rhythm CapeBreton Reel EV 16 110 #1166 (on all other choruses)
Drums Praise Worship UpTempo 16
Guitar Electric Rhythm PopAmericanMuted EV 120 B8ths #634
Guitar Electric Rhythm Uplift Sync Distorted EV16 120 #1271
Guitar Electric Rhythm Shining Rock A-B EV 120 #1259
Guitar Solos PopUplift EV16 120 #1273
And finally, Organ B3 Background Pop 120

Thanks again, Robb!

Hi MarioD!

Thanks for your time listening, and I am so glad you like the song!

I hope all of you have a wonderful and blessed day!!!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
