Re: Seeing FX
On the other DAW you can see what FX you have and also bypass with one click.

I am confused (not an unusual state) by the complaint concerning Tracks - Merge which I find works Ok merging highlighted Midi Tracks and Audio Tracks to empty tracks. On the other hand PTW is different requiring a resident DXi/VSTi plugin in order to process Midi Tracks to audio. In addition, the command is happy to merge empty tracks to audio. I have PTW version 2010, but intend to upgrade shortly and hope to find that this command has been corrected to work similarly to RB

Try to merge two mono audio tracks to a mono track... can't do it.

Yet there is a separate option to 'Track - merge 2 mono audio tracks to stereo' which is what already happens when trying to merge to mono.

I open the event list in tracks view to enter volume changes. Every time I use the arrows at the bottom of the page to scroll my tracks, the event list closes. Is there a way to keep it open?...Bobby

Bobby,

I don't think it is actually closing. What I think is happening is that you are clicking on the the Tracks Window and it is becoming the top window, and the Event List will then be undernath it This is normal. If you click on the Tracks Window while the Event List is currently above the Tracks Window, then the Event List then be underneath the Tracks Window. If you arrange the two windows so that they are in different parts of the screen you can work with both at the same time.

Hi Bob,

I see what you mean in so far that, if you Merge two Mono Audio Tracks using Tracks >Merge, you get a stereo track even if you firstly designate the output track as Mono. The option to Merge to Mono should be included. As a workaround, I can use Audio Merge Stereo Tracks and save in another folder - this can then be Imported back into the song file as a Mono File (be wary of FX).

How about a small applet that allows RB to use Lame encode as an mp3 option?
Kinda like Audacity does.

+1

And perhaps several different encoders (which would imply support for decoding also). You could add FLAC and Monkey's Audio to that as well. Several other applications I use just give you a box to choose the encoder you want to use, you make the appropriate parameter settings (bit-rate, etc), and click okay. They all start with a WAV file anyway, which RealBand does anyway, so it could definitely be a little applet external to the main program.

I'd like to have a split a track (at a marker/time) function .
Point with the cursor and split the track.

Can you explain what you mean more?

Just put a section of a track on another track? Or split this section from stereo to mono? or?

I want a scissor-tool, to split a track into sections to edit(mute, harmonize, extra reverb, or whatever) each section of the track.

An Audio Effects button near the Solo button. It would save me time.

Hi:

I haven't seen anybody mention the fact that the "add favorite" function in Stylepicker is not working correctly. It adds new favorites in Band In a Box, but not in RB. This has been confirmed by several users in a separate thread. Will this be fixed?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
