I realize planning center is not free. However, if you add up all of the time spent to organize volunteers to make church happen each week, it quickly pays for itself. Our entire church uses it to schedule volunteers. We only scratch the surface of the worship service practice and planning.

Keep track of the time you spend making your own system work. Multiply that by all of the other departments and ministry leaders doing the same, on their own, and you'll find there's a whole lotta manpower being expended.

I wish you the best and I'm sure you'll settle on something that works for you - I just wanted to make you aware of other options that are out there. At my old church we used another web-based service that isn't as complete as planning center. I can't remember the name of it. Just google 'worship service planning' and you'll hit several competitors to planning center. You might find one that's free!
