As a previous Windows BIAB user, I was disappointed at some of the nice (and some essential) features that are missing in the 2011.5 Mac version.

It would be good to see the following included:

1. Transpose part of a song. ie, the Windows Transpose... To ... feature.

2. Save styles in the real tracks selector. Currently no way to save a combination, as is in the Windows 'realtracks Save as.... '

3. Favourites is very basic. Need to at least have a up/down placement of favourites, and preferably other options to delete, insert and search. Fortunately this current deficiency can be overcome by editing the Preferences/StyleFavourite.txt file, but that is a bit antiquated.

4. In the Audio render it defaults to a directory: /Applications/Band-in-a-Box/Song Renders/ and even if you change this, next time you load the program it goes back to the default. It would be good even to be able to avoid the subdirectory altogether for the users that do a single file mix. Being able to control the directory is useful for other programs that might be used to further process the audio file (eg Audacity).

I've only had the Mac version for a day, and generally like it, although the feel and look is not as good as the Windows. There seems to be a lot of small 'nice to have' options that have been omitted - the absence of which means that Mac BIAB is not as nice to operate, and falls a long way short of the 'eye candy' and functionality of other music programs (eg Garageband). But it does work OK, just with some desirable functionality missing as indicated above.
