Currently if i have a dedicated VSTI like Ivory or lounge lizard on a track, the Mixer window shows chorus reverb and aux knobs that are designed to send out the standard GM control messages - as if FOR A GM2 Module like Couyote or Bandstand.

However these are of ittle use when dealing with custom VSTIs. WHat we should see there instead - in the Mixer Channel Strip - is the same knows as we get in the VSTI/DXI editor window on the right hand side - namely AUX1 AUX2 etc and PAN - ALL OF THESE BEING FOR THE AUDIO BUSS AND NOT JUST MIDI.

This is how logic and other DAWs treat VSTIs. And it allows VSTIs to be more clearly routed to reverb etc.

The current Mixer window is clearly still coming from the days where the only MIDI being generated was for a General MIDI module

In fact the main Track window too - clearly is still too tied conceptually to just sending MIDI to a general MIDI module,
But If we are talking a bout a DAW - then RealBand should really take custom VSTis into consideration. Currently the way we are forced to set up
custom VSTI tracks seems very much like an afterthought.

Suggestion Take a good long hard look at how Garageband and Logic do things.
