Hey, PG--wanna own the market?
Imagine Real Band with unlimited channels, full VST/VSTi implentation, and Rewire, in addition to its already unique capabilities. There wouldn't be anything that could touch it.
I know there are other features that need implementation to bring it up to a par with apps such as Cubase, Sonar, and Reaper. Others can speak to these points far more knowledgeably than I.
But start with the above. As far as I can tell, at that point you would have The. Killer. App. You know, the one that no serious muso could be without.
Maybe that can't be done with RB. Maybe it needs to be something built from the ground up. Fine. Call it something else, then. The only question then is, why wouldn't you do it?

+1 I've tried (and actually purchased) many of the others, but in the end come back to RB (or PT) for it's simplicity. It would be great to have RB as a killer app, so folks can say, "Hey, where did that app come from?"

Just remember, none of the other software packages you mentioned are composers. RB is already the toast of the town.
I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

I would love to see an upgrade in VSTI, and full automation. But for my taste RB is a killer app. I have Sonar X1, and Reaper. Honestly I have not opened them in months.

Over the years I have looked at a number of different sequencers - even beta tested a couple, although not recently. I find that I was able to do everything I wished to do in RealBand. Maybe, completion needs a bit of thought, say the inclusion of a specific DX/VST Effect, but I find that i can complete development within RealBand without moving to another application.
That is not to say that RealBand is perfect or that other sequencers may have better features in one way or another.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
