Not sure where this song came from. Started playing the chord progression and it kind of spilled out.
Hope you "enjoy" it for what it is...

You Not Here

Here are the Real Tracks.

RealTracks in style: 366:Bass, Electric, Country Ev 065
RealTracks in song: 1676:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking CountryBrent Ev 065
RealDrums in Song: NashvilleBrushesEasyBluegrass: a: Sidestick, Brushes b: Brushes, Stick
RealTracks in song: 1593:Fiddle, Background Pop16ths Ev 065
RealTracks in song: 1856:Cello, Background PopCountry Ev 085
RealTracks in song: 1542:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm PopBelieve Ev16 065
RealTracks in song: ~369:Pedal Steel, Background Ev 065

I added an acoustic guitar, vocals and harmonies.
I don't know about anyone else, but having a pedal steel available to play on these is worth the price of the program....

Funny how when we use the same RTs songs can sound similar.

Visit my Soundcloud page and listen to Do It All Again.

Floyd,
+1 on the cello, its an integral part of your piece.
As before your lyrics and vocal delivery's are great.
So damn sad again...Guess great classic country is sad.

Really enjoyed the story you wrote.

Thanks for sharing your hard work with us.

Eddie, I believe you may have discovered the eventual limitations of Real tracks as the similarity is uncanny, especially if the chord sequence is similar.

Both good songs in their own ways, tho.

Once again, a great job on a well written song. I really enjoy the way you put words together. Thanks for sharing it!

Peter,

Thanks so much for "dropping in" and taking the time to listen. I cannot imagine the "top guy" of ANY other company EVER doing that! Your company and your product are ONE IN A MILLION.

But, really, thank you for providing me (all of us) a cello that can fit so well in my songs (a little too well. I know I'll end up over-using it!). And the pedal steel!!!
And the pianos! And the drums, the basses, the guitars, the fiddles, etc, etc, etc.

Frank, Steve, Robert, boehm, gibson - thanks for listening and commenting. I do appreciate it.

eddie - that's bound to happen now and again. (I would think, particularly, on intros). It was not intentional.

That pedal part has shown up for me 3 times to the point where I had to change styles so I didn't sound like myself.

We don't all have the advantage you do with Cat and Pickles and Fingers to keep things fresh.... And I like how you keep them all holed away so another band doesn't come along and steal them away....

Now, eddie... you know you and I share the same band...

That pedal steel guy keeps playing the same intro over and over and over...

It’s all been said!

Great song. Super lyrics, outstanding vocal and super backing tracks with excellent use of RTs. I really like that cello!

I would work on that ending though!

Ditto, ditto, ditto....

Wow, really great song. And the tone and emotion of your voice really "sell it" with that perfect blend of singing with a bit of a break in the voice, trailing off into almost talking. Nicely sung. Listening again now.

Instruments from about 1/3 through to the end work perfectly for me, including the cello. The only small criticism might be the steel. For me the part seemed a bit too much near the start - partly the level in the mix, but more like the guy is starting out playing a part he would have built to (or something). For me this distracted a bit from the melody.

One thing that I have done that probably many have discovered is that I will add a second or third instance of something like the steel background RT player (as solo or melody, depending on what parts I plan to keep). That way when I render and export to audio, then import to Sonar, I have one or two alternate takes sitting there for every bar. I slice them up and copy/paste (or Control/Shift/drag) the parts that sound best for each section to a new audio track.

Thanks for sharing,
Bruce

Floyd:

Just listened to this -- wonderful, all the way around.

As I have said before, you have a lyrical gift, which sets everything you do apart. The word that comes to mind is "believable."
