I refuse to use ANY software that treats me like a war criminal in order to use it. This "Multimedia Authorization Manager" is stuff the Taliban dreams up. I'd rather just buy hardware than deal with a software company like IK. These people suck BIG TIME !!! They are an insult to the industry.
Really? Ever work with Steinberg's USB dongles? All that comment says is you've not worked a lot with the higher end semi-pro stuff. Piracy is a huge problem. How would you tell them to solve it? And please don't answer with the old cliched "I don't know but I sure wouldn't do it like this!" That's not an answer.
I've had Sampletank for maybe 4 years and had no problem at all the very first time I had to authorize it and no problems since. Seriously, I'm not trying to be rude here but dude, I can read instructions ok? It's not that hard.

It's not hard at all... just take the time to read, understand and follow the instructions. I was done in a couple of minutes. Doesn't take an Einstein, seriously! Peace, Mike

I predict this will be a very problem question. I generallly know how this all works haveing spent a few years working with these type of things. So I was able to get it installed, registered and loaded into BIAB without reading a manual. However, I did have a problem with no instruments being found within BIAB, but solved that by moving the folders around so the instruments were in the right place: But then, I lost my registration and got the message that I only had nine days to register. But I had just done that before I moved the instruments, and it was fully registered. So apparently moving that folder messed something up. So I will run the manager again and re-register. Lets see how that works. Well that did it. A second registration and this time it appears to have stuck. So it ain't rocket science but it is a bit of a hurdle to get it going. Now lets see how nice it is.

Yes, exactly. Well Said, Bob. Quote:
The problem we all face is digital audio work is not a normal use of your computer. There's a very small percentage of users that do this kind of thing. Since it's well outside of the norm, you do have to become a computer nerd in order to understand what needs to be done. I remember getting into this about 10 years ago and running into the same thing. I was just a casual PC user at home and of course used one at work too. My experience was very limited. Going into digital audio home studio recording was a nightmare for me at first. My comment was the same as everybody else's. "I just want to make some flippin music, not spend hours turning myself into a PC geek!!" Well, guess what, we do have to be PC geeks or we'll never get anywhere with this stuff.
Forums like this one are the best places to learn from other users because the big companies don't give a rip about us.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
