On my old xp computer. Authorized and loads fine. Use vsc dxi is checked. The piano part is blue, I right click and select Hi Q synth patch. It opens with a list and I pick one of the pianos. Press generate or play and no sound from sampletank. It's listed in mixer window in slot one. It shows the instrument and forced midi to channel 3 on the screen that has sampletank at the bottom. When the song starts this gets greyed out. If I choose "synth" on sampletank itself I can play the sampletank keyboard with my mouse and hear it but that's the only time. When biab plays I hear nothing on the track even if it's solo'd. And I'm making sure I use one of the new midi styles. Any ideas????

Does it look like this:

And you have to be sure that the track you are adding it to actually has midi data on it. There has been a little confusion lately with some sytles which have tracks with no midi data on it. PG talked about some fixes he intends in a thread on the mainpage. I'll get the link. http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=392272&an=0&page=0#Post392272

Okay I'll try this again since I somehow deleted my last post...

Dan,

The number under PART is not in color. Otherwise the screen looks like that AFTER I click on the instrument listed on the left. It opens only showing the instrument listed ont he left and a little arrow with band-in-a-box on the right.

I'm trying Midi Supertracks 1-9, MST04 then the first style at the top, CAIRPGS which lists midi piano ST 2056 and midi strings ST 2058. Neither of them play.

Thank you for helping me.

I recently found (or confirmed) that Supertracks generate the patch change on one channel and the actual MIDI note data on another.
If in RB, check the actual MIDI data in Event List.

Edit- Rechannel to fix.

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

rharv, I'm in BIAB. Darn, I thought I'd just have to right click on the blue and that'd be it. LOL! I like to test things in BIAB rather than in RB because it's faster. I'll see if I can find edit rechannel.

Thank you for your help.

Yeah, Dan, it should work, I don't usually have trouble with things working in BB.. I think I'm going to try reinstalling it and starting over.

Okay, I've reinstalled, reauthorized, tried everything I can think of and it just will not work for me. Guess I'll have to call support tomorrow. I can hear what it would sound like if it played by clicking on a note at a time on it's keyboard while the BIAB song is playing. The midi data from biab just isn't being played.

Hey Josie, that's a pretty cool tune and vid there on "Girl It's Gone". Nice work!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
