I recently came across software in the Sweetwater catalog that seems to be what I am looking for. It is called Auto-Tune 7 by Antares. From the description, it appears to be able to pitch shift vocals. Since I don't have the range I used to, this may be the ticket. Has anyone heard of this? Will it work with PT?
Thanks, as always - Bernie

Bernie,
I owned Auto Tune a few years ago by Antares. It is $$$$$ software. They introduced an iLok type of USB "Key" to keep people from pirating their software. Long story short: I did not have a USB storage device at the time and they refused to allow me to access the software AFTER they were paid for it.
I will NEVER buy anything from Antares again. The software worked fine in a previous version I had.
Does PT come with the TC Helicon like RB and Biab? If so, it does the same thing Auto Tune does for pitch. Of course you would get many more features with Auto Tune, but for pitch adjusting, I would use the TC Helicon for that.
There are a couple of other software makers out there that also does pitch shift for vocals etc.

Like Music Trax, I also had an unpleasant experience with iLock . Luckily the vendor stepped in and helped.
To answer your questions "Has anyone heard of this?" - Yes, quite a few of us are aware of Autotune "Will it work with PT?" - probably, version combinations of Autotune and PT will likely affect outcome.
To answer implied question - "Would we recommend buying it?" - not without checking out other options first. It may be just what you need and worth every penny. Then again something like GSnap may do the job for free. Research/Test before buying.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I am trying to use TC Helicon on PT to pitch shift my vocals. For the vocals input, I am running a microphone through a Line Six Tone Port UX1 hardware box. I leave the track in PT as midi. In order to use Helicon, the track has to be midi. However, as soon as I try to record a vocal track, it automatically records as audio.
Help please!
Thanks as always, Bernie

I did download GSnap and loaded the .dll into PT. However, the interface is different than shown on the web site. I have no idea what the knob labels mean. All I am looking for is to be able to pitch shift my vocals. Help appreciated.

It has been awhile since using G-Snap, but G-Snap will correct a mono vocal track.
The TC Helicon will use a melody midi track as a GUIDE for the vocal track. It will also use the chords from the chord sheet in PT/RB as well for harmonies.
But, for fine tuning a vocal track, you will want to have a track (midi) with melody notes in order for the TC Helicon to use as a GUIDE.

I looked at Celemony - it looks good for fine tuning. However, I am just looking for anything that does the following;
1. Lets me sing the melody 1-3 steps down form the original key. 2. Crank it back up to the original key.
This is because I don't have the range I used to and cannot hit some of the higher notes.
Any more suggestions?
Thanks - Bernie

Audio pitch correction, and vocal tuning is very ticklish business. Moving vocal more than a step or so is very difficult at best. Especially a lead vocal where it is standing alone in the mix. Background vocals tend to get more buried.
Does PT have the same audio transposing plugin as RB if so sing the song and pitch shift the whole song up.
I will test this and see here.
My fear is that the vocal will have to many artifacts, and sound un natural.
There is nothing wrong with singing in your key. I do a lot of songs down a step or two from the originals.

If you can't sing in the key then lower it.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
