Gone too darn soon. I'm gonna miss you John. I loved your off the wall wit, courageous spirit and strong character. It's not going to be the same around here without you.

Thanks for letting everyone know Sandra.

So sad.

Thoughts and prayers for his family.

I echo the sentiments on this board to this point. The funny thing I find about this is how people from all parts of the world can become intimately acquainted with one another. I am sure few of us actually met John pesonally. But, he was a guy that invested his wisdom and personality here to where we all have been touched by his character.

The neat thing also that comes with this medium is that you can go back through past threads to get a chuckle over John's observations and thoughts we would all share together. So, it is almost like those TV shows from the 50's where the actors have long since died, yet you can watch them as if they were still working on the screen.

For my conversations with him, I gleaned a lot from his perspectives on music. My prayers go out to his family. Although it was not a surprise given his preexisting condition; there is still that loss in their lives that we were never wired to experience. No matter how generations come and go we will never conquer it on our own. Only One had come to conquer death. And only in Him can that peace and assurance be found when that day comes to all of us.

The sadness of his passing will be long overshadowed by the joy and humor he brought to us all.
Thank you John for all you were and all you will continue to be.

Very sad news.

John is a much loved member of this forum, and has many friends here. His wit, prose and friendly banter will be missed. John had a great outlook on life, very positive, and always proud to be a Canadian. He showed us how love for family, friends and music are the best things in life. I thank him for all the support and help he has given to the people on this forum, and his great support and suggestions for the software.

OMG! What heart-breaking news. So sad.

I actually had a 'friendship request' pending for him on FB but he obviously never saw it as he never added me. Thank you for letting me know, Sandra.

My sincere heartfelt condolences to his wife, family and friends.

RIP John - you will be missed

At the request of one of John's friends, I put a link to this thread on the Facebook post, and mentioned that people here were remembering John.

Please allow this old catholic to pass on this prayer for our departed forum buddy.

"...Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
