eric,

I think it's cool that you are adding in other instruments - doing the midi thing.

This one seemed to wander... the e pianos don't seem to be able to find the groove.

Your guitar sounded great - not enough if it in this one. - floyd

nice progression going on.

To eliminate the long tail get and use a wave editor. After you export the song open it in the editor and trim it.

This is the one I use: http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html

It is free.... after the trial period it offers the option to activate the demo version with limited function. Normalizing, converting to MP3, and trimming are part of the features that remain functional.

The song is cool and laid back, but some of the scales and riffs are not in the proper scale..... notes are not fitting in places.

You can fix that with a few options depending....

1. be sure the key matches the chords you are using.
2. render several tracks, not just one, for that given instrument and use creative editing.
3. use melodyne to fix those notes

my 2 cents

Hi Eric,

Nice sound, as always. I do agree with pretty much all that has been suggested. Would like to hear more of your guitar.

Hello, "F.M.M."...

Does the "F.M.M." stand for "Feel My Music?" In that case, "The Lady" in your composition sounds like someone that a guy could have a l-o-n-g, pleasurable conversation with in a noisy nightclub, though he'd have to do a lot of listening to keep her interested, 'cuz she definitely seems to be a sophisticated lady!

The song manages to be funky and mellow at the same time, and since the equation (funky) + (mellow) = sexy, that means you're gonna have to drop that conversation with the quickness, partner,'cuz it looks to me like she wants to dance with you...

Hi Eric,

Very laid back, very enjoyable! I found this sound an interesting mix of Realtracks and midi. The 12/8 drum beat against the SW 16 piano had a creative and inventive cross-over feel to me that was reminiscent of the 70s cross-over jazz styles.

I liked it.

Keep on experimenting! I'm grateful for the musical ideas you give me smile

All the best,
Noel

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
