A song about a young man working on a tunnel boring machine and dreaming of his holidays at the beach.

https://soundcloud.com/tuigorge/girls-on-call-1

RD Blues rock funky 16th's
Bass - RT572 Elect Blues
Bass - Me - Pedulla 5 string
Guitar - RT 1305 Celtic drones only.

Slightly Gothic.

Hi RichMac,

Very inventive concept! This is the only song I've heard about working on a tunnelling machine. I enjoyed the listen. Balance, choice of instruments and presentation worked for me.

Regards,
Noel

+1 to what Noel said.

Very clever RichMac. You painted a very vivid song picture of him working hard and dreaming to get through it.

RichMac,

Your best! Enjoyable. Interesting. Unique. Quite listenable.

Well written, too. I'd call this RichMac-Rap. Do some more!

Nice job on the bass line...

Rich Mac,

That was different to the usual fare on here, brilliant!
And it sounds like you worked on such a machine, with the heart felt cry of needing a beer!!
As Floyd, I liked the bass line also.

A good one.

Yep... certainly not your "average run of the mill" holiday song..... but hey....

Good job on the challenge. Mix sounded good.

Hi RichMac,

really no average holiday song.
Unusual to pan the bass left.
It's something special.

Many thanks for the fabulous comments. I feel quite blown away.

I worked underground as a shift electrician on the boring machine in the Kaimai tunnel in NZ (years ago). The rock face was 2 and a half kilometers from the tunnel entrance which was uphill with a lot of water running towards the machine. We did lose the power and flood the machine twice. And lost the air often.
There was a cave in where 4 men lost their lives. I wasn't there then but will never forget my time underground.

Sorry I missed this one. Super cool. Applachian music in the US is packed with coal mining songs. Really neat to hear this more modern version on the theme. Nice all the way around!

So glad you enjoyed it Janice and Bud
Ahh yes! Wish I didn't miss so many songs. They come and go so fast.

Thanks Tom I hope to do more bluegrass funk (bluefunk?) with talking blues type vocals.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
