Hi all. One of the benefits of being able to create music on computers is the sheer flexability of the process, having shown several pieces of my work to friends and acquaintances one lad asked if i would arrange 8 or 9 songs of his as his originals only had a decent vocal and a guitar part,so i dubbed extra instruments onto them, varying from bass lines to strings and even two trumpet lines. He was extremely pleased with the final result and we ended up collaborating on a few other tracks,i was wondering do people collaborate on here with ideas for BB songs and the like? It would be fun to arrange tracks for people again as i learned a lot from doing it. I shall be interested to get some opinions.

Yep... arranging and especially the production and engineering are becoming my favorite parts of this music thing. I always enjoy writing and performing...but I'm really getting into the production aspect here over the last few years. I have worked up a few songs from simple vocal tracks, kind of like a reverse engineering of a song. Build from the vocal track. This song came to me as a vocal, piano, bass, drum scratch demo. I removed everything but the vox and started from the ground up. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10242566I have colabbed with other musicians providing fiddle tracks and other "one of" tracks for their projects. I think there are a number of folks here who do actually work together on projects.... you just need to hang in the User Showcase a bit and read what the folks are saying about their songs.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
