Hi All, Here's a song called Blue Sixty Eight Sedan. All BIAB RTs - recorded/mixed in GarageBand. Thanks for listening! Bob

Hey Bob, Brings back fun memories of my first car - Ford Fairlane passed down from one of my older brothers kids and I traded it for a Firebird - then I was "Queen" a bit later than '68 but "Queen" of cool in my mind nonetheless. LOL! I like the production. I'd have brought the harmony in on the first chorus. Enjoyed the ride.

Hey Josie, Thanks. I was on the fence about the harmony and first chorus, but since you mention it, I made the change. Thanks again. Bob

Your song draws you in... can't ask for more than that. On a technical side the mix sounds a bit muddy in parts, the instruments could use a little more definition, maybe spread them in the stero field and play with the tone a little. But the vocals and drums are mixed perfectly IMHO.
Thanks for sharing, I hear some good stuff there.
Rick

Hi, Bob !:))
It would be really nice to go back ! My father always fancied big american cars (chuckle) and I can recall his plymouth belvedere 1957 model as well as his big pontiac much later. Somehow these images came to mind when listening to your nostalgic tune !:))
Cheers Dani

Bob, Like so many of your songs, it just sucks you in. Great use of of the tracks especially the organ and the harmonica. My Dad had a blue 68 sedan. I was thinking where are the drums when the 1st chorus started, then lo and behold they appeared and sounded great on the next verse. That's what i mean about getting sucked in. It makes me want to fast forward to see what's next. I really enjoyed this one. Tom

Great song and an absolutely killer chorus. I was there man, 22 in 1968. Thanks for the cool reminders via a fine write and all around production.

Bob,
A cool rhythm to this one. There is both a simplicity and complexity to the lyric. That's cool. The organ works really well (I thought it should have hit right at the beginning of the chorus - since you did not bring drums in there). The harmony is pretty low. I think having it more "an equal partner" in this chorus would work well - it's a cool chorus.
The drums sound great! I've always felt that the songs you write beg to be driven HARD by the drums - to really rock! And this one heads that direction! And paired with the organ... it's a great combination. You've got the type of voice that can really carry that type of production (I'd like to see you drive those drums even more, actually).
Was sort of hoping you would end by bringing in a screaming electric lead...
I really enjoyed this. Definitely my favorite...

Hey Floyd,
Thanks - I appreciate that. I actually had a very different arrangement for this song, complete with screaming guitar and a harder vocal... After many iterations, I decided to strip it back some, soften the vocal and settled on a dominant base line to move the tune along.
Thanks again - always good to get another point of view.
Bob

Bob, Great tune. Takes me back to the back seat of my parents aquamarine '69 Malibu with the upgraded V-8. That car flew. What were they thinking with teen-age boys?!!! SD

Bob, excellent as usual. Only gripe is it makes MY first car sound/look rubbish. A 997 cc Morris Minor I enjoyed that Alyn

Hi Bob...
This is our first time to listen to you. And yep, brings back some fond memories. Those are the kind of songs that stay with you and you appreciate them more and nore every time you hear them.
I (Al) never had a '68 anything but had a 66 Mustang GT convertible with the Hi-Po 289, pony interior and rally pac, etc. Also had a 1959 Ford Skyliner (retractable hardtop convertible) and a '58 T-Bird. Wish I had a few them back right now!
Great song. We really enjoyed our listen! best to you in 2014!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
