PG music friends. This is a song that I never could get to sound decent in a demo until I got BIAB. It uses a jazz combo with acoustic (can't remember exactly which one)
Hope you enjoy. Take care. Greg

I LIKE THE NIGHT

You like to watch the risin’ sun
I fall out of bed about noon, and put my dark glasses on
I dig them wee wee hours, and you like it bright
Baby, you like the day, I like the night

I’ve seen a Summer’s day bring life into your eyes
Makes me wonder if you got the power to photosynthesize
I dig them sleepy clubs, piano blues and neon light
Baby, you like the day, I like the night

But sometimes we meet in the middle in those groovy twilight hours
Where our biorhythms intersect at the point of equal power
Later, we might go our separate ways
But we own the time that ain’t quite night and ain’t quite day

I’m not sure I’ve ever encountered a pair like you and I
But this ain’t the first time that Cupid let his crooked arrow fly
We got our hearts in tune but our timing ain’t quite right
Cause baby, you like the day, I like the night

I like the night
Afternoon is just alright
I like the night

That is a cool breezy tune with a fine vocal and lyric (clever comes to mind). The jazz RTs work really well to support the melody and your vocal. The bass worked really well on the stops. And a nice mix to ice the cake.

"I’ve seen a Summer’s day bring life into your eyes
Makes me wonder if you got the power to photosynthesize"

That line alone is worth the listen!

Song has nice bouncy fell to it to complement the melody. Bass in the back track is very cool. Excellent vocal

Greg, another top number, really liked it from the very first note. The walking bass really works well, and your vocals are always top notch. Nice choice of piano and sax for the break. And all that music sitting behind a fantastic evocative lyric - almost a biology lesson (ha ha).

Hi Greg
Excellent song - amusing lyrics and a good tune to go with it.
Be a great song for a Vampire!! lol!
And You dont often get lyrics like "biorhythms intersect at the point of equal power" in songs these days grin
Nice Sax solo in there too. Very smooth.
Liked it a lot.
Cheers

Much appreciated!!! Like most on this forum, I suspect, I just want to be heard. Although my dream is to get a cut on a major label as a writer, whatever money I'd make on an album cut would probably be inconsequential in my life. However, it would validate me artistically. Short of that, I just love being a member of a community of music makers who have some appreciation of my effort. This is a great, kind, and supportive musical community, a really special collection of people. And, as one who has little faith in almost anything these days, I appreciate that. Thanks again, keep writing, and take care. Greg

Hi Greg.
Very very nice. Jazzy and bluesy. Great vocal. I also like the way you have done the stops. I can never get them to sound natural.

Keep writing!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
