Hi Everyone,

This is a new folk rock song I wrote about discovering an old trail path and following it hiking up a mountainside. It's a love song for nature. I used two RT's I've never used before. The Koto synth and the Tres Guajira. Written in BB, tracks generated/recorded in RB, mixed with Reaper and Mixbus.

RT's used:

1681 Guitar 12-String Acoustic
405 Guitar Acoustic
Drums NashvilleEven8
1755 Mandolin
2035 Mandolin
2304 Synth Koto
1960 Tres Guajira
1523 Bass
685 Harmonica

Addie's Trail Video has lyrics included in the description.

Addie's Trail- Soundcloud

As always thank you for listening and your thoughts.

Hey Josie

That is really wonderful. Nice and restful. The birds are singing just for me.

Mellow stuff for a Monday public holiday in South Africa.

Love the harmonies.

Superb job on this one. You have crafted and tell a wonderful story. You did a good job with your instrument choices and the total mix is good. The harmonies are very good. Your emphasis and raising the "just" created a nice hook. Very catching and I'm sure I'll be back for another listen. Very good job on this one.

Regards,

Charlie

Thank you JosieC. I'll have the video up soon, hope you enjoy your holiday.

Thanks Rich. That's an old painting from the PD. Stay warm.

Thank you Charlie. I used to love the mountains in TN so I was thinking about that when I wrote it. Appreciate the kind words on the mix too.

Josie:

Nice song. The chorus is catchy with nice harmonies. And I really like some of your lines in the verses, especially "beat the long shadows home."

Good job.

Josie,

Very nice. Good mix throughout. The mandolin lead was a bit low, I thought. The vocal and harmonies were quite nice.

Very smooth sound...

Josie,

I always look forward to hearing one of your songs. I think one of your songs was the first song I ever listened to when I got Band In A Box, and joined this forum. It was good then, and this one is good now. You are a consistently good contributor to this forum! Thanks for sharing!

Really pretty song! At first your voice seems not quite out front enough but as you get into the groove, it rises beautifully. Gorgeous song!! Take care. Greg

Josie, Really nice song. I especially like the melody and chord progression in the chorus. Sounds a little beatlesque. That's a good thing. Well done, I enjoyed it very much. Tom

Nice and mellow and very fitting with the nature motif.
Interesting choice of RT's that support the vocals, melody
and lyrics very well.

A pleasant listen all the way around. Bravo!

That's a wonderful piece. Ditto on the nice harmonies comment. And i really like the nice break on "you know what i found?" And your answer. That was very effective and simply perfect. -Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I really appreciate that. I wrote the song in C with the intention of changing it later. Then the instruments just sounded so nice in that key I didn't want to transpose them which meant I had to put ye old clothespin on the backside there and go for it.... blush

The whole song was written around "You know what I found. It don't get easier coming down Addie's trail". It's what came first in my head. smile

Thank you,

Josie

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
