The Lyrics:

YOU`RE MAKIN´ME FEEL SO FINE (by Dani) ©Dani Lindroos 2014

I was alone for such a long time
I never thought I´d find the way back to rhyme
again, never, again
she had to go away
leaving me here in sorrow
each day was ever so gray,
like there was no tomorrow

She was the one I loved for so long
I never realized there was something wrong
and then, suddenly, it was all in vain
Why did she have to go
Why was she taken from me
you know I loved her dearly so
did´nt know what was to be…..

was to be, was to be….

Then you came by and lit up my sky
and now I´m not alone anymore
now you´re not really shy
like before
´cause you´re mine
leading me back to the rhyme
and you know that you´re mine
makin´me feel , oh so fine

solo…….

Why did she have to go
Why was she taken from me
you know I loved her dearly so
did´nt know what was to be…..

was to be, was to be….

Then you came by and lit up my sky
and now I´m not alone anymore
now you´re not really shy
like before
´cause you´re mine
leading me back to the rhyme
and you know that you´re mine
makin´me feel , oh so fine

´cause you´re mine
leading me back to the rhyme
and you know that you´re mine
makin´me feel, oh so fine
oh so fine…….fade away

Cheers
Dani

Hi Dani,

First of all... Congratulations! laugh

And... what a beautiful song! This kind of music is the right music for your voice.
The backing vocals are also very nice, is that HER?

Go on making this kind of music.

Really beautiful song!! Great emotion, sweet music. I think the Bacharach style suits you very well. Your style definitely reminds me of his. I was always a big fan. This is certainly one of my Dani favorites. Post to your heart's content-I never get tired of listening! Take care. Greg

One of your best yet Dani, if not the best. Like others have said, this style fits you so well. I like your instrumentation on this one as well as the nice chord progression. And, as always, your vocals are spot on. It was a joy to listen to this one. Looking forward for another soon. Glad you are back and posting again.

Hi Dani!

Thanks for honoring my request for more music after your sailing adventure!

I am so glad to hear that you have found love again! I know the deep dark place you were in for such a long time, and it must be a great relief to be out of that pit.

I agree with other peoples' comment that the Burt Bacharach style is a good fit for you. The song is very nice and does a good job of expressing a wide range of emotions. My only observation is as follows:

Drawing the listeners mood from one very deeply felt negative emotion to a new deeply felt positive emotion within the span of a few minutes asks an awful lot of the listener's willingness to concentrate and really consider what you are saying. The willingness to project themselves into your emotion strongly affects how much they can be moved by the song.

Considering the possible ways to draw a listener in, I was reminded of a device that was used in the Wizard of Oz. Before Dorothy got to Oz, the film was in black and white... but in Oz, it was in technicolor! This simple change in video format implied differences very quickly and easily which would have taken many words to duplicate.

In a 3 minute song, there is no time to lyrically develop the idea that life is better in the 2nd half of the song. Taking the Wizard of Oz video idea and modifying it for audio, you could accomplish it very easily by making the first half of the song less decorated and very sparsely orchestrated. Then, when love appears, break out the violins and full blown orchestration!

But, I'm just rambling here, because being in the same situation as you, I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about how I would pursue a song like this. It's not the easiest kind of song to write, but you did it very well! I got sucked right into the vortex of the tornado. ;-)

Dani, your song provides hope for me too! Thanks!

Dani, You sure have a handle on this style. But that doesn't mean you should stop experimenting. It is so easy do with BIAB. You sing this one very well. Great BG vocals. Nice job. Tom

Hi, Pat !

I did not know that you
were in the same boat with me
but now that I do, I sure
hope that you will manage
to steer the boat to the shore
bringing the journey to a
satisfying end !

Regarding the song, I fully
agree with everything you
said about it ! I should have
had a more significant change
of orchestration where the
good part begins ! I will keep
that lesson in mind lest I
should write a sequel ?

Brother Pat ! Take care
and may everything go well with
you !

Cheers
Dani

Hi, Floyd !:))

LOL, thank you Floyd for
your most kind words !
I guess love and longing are
among the strongest emotions
driving songwriting and
performing ? I am glad
if I have been able to express
those feelings in a

a small extent ?

SongPicker Enhancements in Band-in-a-Box® 2020 for Mac!

The Band-in-a-Box® SongPicker has been enhanced with our newest 2020 version!

The SongPicker now builds faster for large song lists (>30K and up to 60,000 songs). The [Song] button (or the [Open] button) now has 3 additional menu items to launch the SongPicker.

- Open SongPicker in Current Folder: This opens the SongPicker in the current folder of the last loaded song.
- Open SongPicker in Home Folder: This opens the SongPicker in the home folder, which is Applications/Band-in-a-Box/MySongs or as set in the SongPicker.
- Open SongPicker in Favorite Folder: This launches the Favorite Folder dialog which allows you to choose any previously used folder where a song was loaded from, and then open the SongPicker in that folder.

In the SongPicker, there is a new “Open in Home” option. If this is enabled, the SongPicker will always open in the home folder instead of the current folder when you press the default [Song] button to open the SongPicker.

Searching for songs matching a chord progression or melody has been enhanced. There are three new checkboxes: "Key must match exactly," "Chord Extension must match exactly", and "Time Signature must match."

Click here to jump to the SongPicker subject in our New Features video to learn more. (32:11)

(read more about this feature in our Band-in-a-Box 2020 for Mac Online Upgrade Manual.)

Thanks for sharing, Pipeline!

New "Feature Browser" in Band-in-a-Box® 2020 for Mac

Band-in-a-Box® has so many features! We add 50 new ones with every version, so you may have forgotten all the different things that Band-in-a-Box® can do. Fortunately, with the release of Band-in-a-Box® 2020 we've solved this issue by added a Feature Browser!

How does it work? Access this feature by clicking on the [?] button on the main screen of the program or pressing the / Enter keys on the Chord Sheet. This dialog lists many features of the program and allows you to browse them, find the feature by text filter, read descriptions about the feature, find how to launch the feature, access to the online information or video about the feature, and do more.

Examples of a few situations where this feature is helpful:

-You know about a feature but don't know how to find it. Just type a part of the feature name and you'll see the hotkeys, menu, and toolbar info on how to launch it. For example, if you want to launch the Chord Builder but don’t know how to do it, type "builder" in the text filter, and you will quickly find the Chord Builder.
-You are exploring available features for Band-in-a-Box. For example, if you are a guitar player, type the word "guitar" and you'll see what's available.
-You prefer "one-stop-shopping" and would like to launch features from the same dialog.
-You are learning the program and like to browse or watch videos about topics you're interested in.
You can't remember hotkeys and want to review them.

Watch this new feature in action when you jump to the subject in our New Features video: 10:20 - New Feature - Feature Browser

(read more about this feature in our Band-in-a-Box 2020 for Mac Online Upgrade Manual.)
