I have some wonderful RealTracks bass parts. But many tunes demand a specific bass line (Song for My Father, Chameleon, etc.) at least during the head.

I would love to be able to use the RT parts in the solo sections, but use the SAME BASS as a sample lib to play the specific lines where needed. I can cut together bass parts from Trillian or Kontakt, but if you could add a few basic single-note playable sample sets to the existing parts there are a LOT more tunes i could create(I know it is not that simple, but should be realizable.)

Thoughts?

Why not use MIDI? Have BIAB generate a MIDI bass line, modify it to your needs, then use a bass from Kontakt.

OR create a RT bass track, save it, use a pitch to MIDI program (Melodyne is one of the best but there are some free ones out there), change the part(s) you would like to change then pick a Kontakt bass sound.

Just my thoughts.

PS-I have used the RT suggestion with no problem.

I just posted a selfie and all of the responses were get well soon!

That's what I do. But there are many songs that I prefer the BiaB style bass to what I can coax out of a MIDI keyboard and Trillian, or one of my Kontakt/Gigastudio libs. If the instrument used in a particular (jazz or Latin, in my case, but all styles could benefit) were available in a relatively basic Kontakt or Sampletank library, we could mix the two approaches with relative ease, blend my bass lines with, for example, RT443: Bass, Acoustic, Jazz Sw 140 , Neil Swainson. If Neil also added a small Kontakt set (nothing fancy, just single notes at a couple velocities, tempos and lengths) it would help a lo, and not be difficult to implement. Wouldn't even have to change the current styles, and probably could use the same Kontakt set with more than one RealTrack.

The coolest version would be to make the library so it could be played directly from BiaB as a sub-track of the regular bass, add the option to select the recorded (RealNotes?) or the RealTrack; this would require coding, though, so is not as simple (and still needs the library, regardless of format.)

An easy +1 here. Loads of songs rely heavily on a bass line that's a bit of a 'red thread' running through parts or even the whole song. From 'Pachebel' to 'Another one bites the dust', that list is looong, and so is the list of potentials here.
Really hope this one catches the eyes of the guys upstairs! smile

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
