I need to do a gig of old pop tunes and want to get the lyrics to show up in PTs. As I don't have time to learn them all. I know there are many midi files around with lyrics but a few I need couldn't be found. Does anyone here know if PTs can display lyrics from regular karaoke files?
One in particular I want is Cruisin' by Smokey Robinson (done recently by H Lewis and G Paltrow.)

What is a "regular Karaoke file" ?
If it is a .kar file you may have success..
Make your sound your own!

I could not find it in .kar , just midi with no lyrics. I be at a karaoke store you could get it in CD+G format and BiaB will read those fairly well, then convert it to PT.
Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

Ed:
Providing you know the song well enough, you can do this:
- open the MIDI file in PTPA
- Google the song. (I used) - cruisin "smokey robinson" lyrics
- open any of the sites that have the lyrics and then highlight them and Ctrl+C to copy to clipboard
- in PTPA open the Comments window, place the cursor there and Ctrl+V to paste the lyrics
- size the window to suit
This of course will only work if you know how the song goes and just need a reminde of the words
as the words won't "highlight" as the song is playing like they do in a karaoke file.

RB certainly plays CD+G karaoke files and highlights the text as you go along BUT you will have to work with the existing arrangements (i.e. you can't mute out an instrumental track from the mix). As I am guessing you are a musician and not singer, I doubt CD+G files will help you
