Hello everyone, The new song: Pretty cries Y'all will hear where the inspiration for this came from (not from personal experience though ). Just kidding. This was sort of an 'in between' solo project. I was experimenting with the melodist and it came up with something that sounded a bit like Rockabilly. Then I thought: 'why not change the chord sequence a little and add some Rockabilly RTs. That worked out nicely. On top of that I added the Brent Mason Spaghetti Western soloist which I never used before, neither heard anywhere on the forum. This song has been on the shelf for a couple of months. I created the video a couple of days ago. Check it out, it´s good for a few laughs. All comments are welcome. cause ooh baby that love gets me high you should be somewhere nearby tonight baby I would pay that price for hearing those pretty cries
all day I'm wondering why nights are so cold not getting much younger not feeling too old still I'm so lonesome I fear I would die if faith and love won't send you by
cause ooh baby your kisses they burn it's time to love you in return cause now I can see what they meant by paying those 'higher rents'
I would shoot the moon I would run for miles I would tie you up I would bring you down just to have you around.....

I enjoyed it! It's a little dark, seductive, but I thought it was well put together, while a bit risque! Arrangement and vocals/mix are top notch as usual! Take care. Greg

Great Job. Nice job on the lyrics. The guitar fill tied this song together nicely. Liked the last chord on the finish. Rob

Interesting song and way different from what we normally hear from you. Quite unique. Excellent mix, performance and arrangement.
Enjoyed my listen.

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie, As with all your music, this is terrific to listen to. The mix, the arrangement and the performance all add together to give 10/10. 'Outstanding' is one word that consistently springs to mind when I hear (and watch) your work. These lyrics are quite different from your usual ones. Normally your writing style is more along the lines of free verse poetry. While such impressionistic lyrics have their own beauty, I am out of my comfort zone when it comes to commenting on them. This time around, I enjoyed the additional attention given to rhymes and the lyric flow that resulted as a consequence of them. My favourite line was "a desert of loneliness here in this place". The phrase, "desert of loneliness" is an excellent metaphor. It conjures up a very vivid image. All the best, Noel

Wow, What a pair of -- eyes. Sounds good. Those real tracks are so cool. Nicely mixed and once again perfectly sung. Another good one. What a pair- you and A-M that is. Tom

I think you did a great job of setting up the nervous energy that the lyrics convey IMHO.

Well - THAT - was different! Did someone sing about the stars coming out tonight? Unusual song that was masterfully written and performed. Did you use a different approach to mixing? Still sounds "radio ready" but different somehow but my ears are not trained enough to discern what the difference is.

An interesting write. What interested me most about it was how much it was "an RnAM song" - your signature sound - not just production, but writing and vocal stylings, as well..
Good mix. The guitar solo seemed a bit "stretched".

Hi RnAM. Fascinating! Kept wondering what was going to happen next in the video and the quivery guitar solo suited the quivery video so well. Great atmosphere. Cheers.

What the heck. The cage needs rattling every now and then. Very different, risqué only by a 1940's lens, film noir debuts at the forum; all come to mind.
Y'all can do such disparate productions and yet somehow always retain the RnAM stamp of signature and excellence.
Also a plus one on the line Noel singled out.
In a word, "Cool."

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
