Hi all.
Here is a new one.
All comments invited.
Not sure if Ive over done the delay on the vocals.
Hope you like it.
Rob

Took My Love

Took my love

I took my love into to town.
I took my love into to town.

She spent my hard earned money on things not necessary.
When I made a protest she seemed derog atory.
Bucket loads of money and things Ive never seen.
Even bought a washing board to wash my old blue jeans.

I took my love down by the river side.
I took my love down by the river side.

She scared away the catfish mosquito's buzzing round.
She shoved me in the water man I almost drowned.
Complained about spiders and webs in all the trees.
You know I couldn't stand it bought me to my knees.

Took my love to the ocean blue.
Took my love to the ocean blue.

Complained about the sea birds gliding through the air.
Cursed the coastal breezes for tangling up her hair.
Said she her skin was peeling wanted to go home.
If I had only known

I took my love into to town.
I took my love into to town.

She spent my hard earned money on things not necessary.
When I made a protest she seemed derog atory.
Bucket loads of money and things Ive never seen.
Even bought a washing board to wash my old blue jeans.

Fun tune!! Very clever and well done. RTs were jammin'!! Got a kick out of it. If I were you, I'd lighten up on the verb on this one. Very cool track!! Take care. Greg

Very nice Rob. Almost a traditional kind of sound somehow.
Love the lyrics. They certainly ring a bell with me.
And great job on the vocals and harmonies. Cheers

RichMac is right. Regardless the genre, you get an authentic traditional vibe in your songs as well as anybody can.

Bluegrass is a personal favorite genre and I have no doubt any traditional bluegrass radio station would play this tune over and over.

Yep. (It may be that the vocal verb is a little heavy, not sure.)

'She scared away the catfish mosquito's buzzing round.
She shoved me in the water man I almost drowned.
Complained about spiders and webs in all the trees.
You know I couldn't stand it bought me to my knees.'

Brilliant!

Along the bayous lined with Cypress trees, which have knees, large banana spiders spin giant webs. And of course there are catfish, and those bloodsuckers.

Nice job Rob. There are some well crafted lyrics here. Too much delay on the vocal. You have a good feel for this genre. Another great vocal. Tom

He said it all. Very cool and as a long time bluegrass
picker I know the purist will argue about the vocal
effects...so be it. It's cool to hear something different.
Great job!

Hi Rob,

What a great listen! Bluegrass is a personal favourite of mine and you did it justice! As others have noted, there are some truly inspired lines in these lyrics. I'm heading back to another run through.

Regards,
Noel

Rob,

Your songs are always so much fun to listen to and this one is no exception. Your songs are always so descriptive that it's easy to imagine the scenes. No one else has mentioned it but that is an outstanding ending. I don't know how you did it but it sounded like the mandolin and fiddle doubled each other.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
