Great song that brings back great memories. My grandparents used to always drink chicory coffee (back in the 50's) and I never quite got it as a kid. My parents didn't drink it so I was a confused a boy :-)
There's a ton to like about this, e.g., the lyric, the melody, the vocal, the RT choice, the pickin' and the mix. Guess that about covers the song.
It ALL works well!
One for the SC playlist indeed.
J&B Playlist worthy? I am flattered, truly. Thank you.

Hi Scott,
This is a very professional song. Both the musical arrangement and certainly the vocals. We definitely like it!

Very cool song!! As Floyd said, fun but not silly. It works on all levels for me. Vocal is excellent and mix is great. Really well done in every way!! Take care. Greg A big +1! That was some very good geetar picking also!

In order of appeal:
Original subject matter. Well written lyrics. Vocals up front and performed well. Clean mix and well chosen, uncluttered instrumentation.
All works for me....well done.
Carry on.... Thank you. The song was born of that every-morning stumble to the kitchen. I didn't set out to write about Chicory, just turned out that way:) I've said it before, Scotty - your vocals are spot on and you are a model of how singing should be approached and rendered. You have excellent voice control and dynamic range.
Thanks for sharing, amigo. Thank you, Donald. You're too kind, sir.
LOL, Don said it best!
Love it Scotty! Thank you, Danny. You're also too kind, sir:) LOL! Fun one Scott! Never drank it but I sure enjoyed listening. You sound great and love the arrangement.
Josie Appreciate that, Josie. I had never drank it either, until landing in the south. It's just coffee with a little roasted Chicory mixed in. Glad you enjoyed the tune. Cool tune with a fun groove.
Don't know that I've ever knowingly drank the stuff. Thanks for the listen, Herb.

Hi Scott. Now that is cruisy. Love the vocals, guitar and feel. Thank you for the new and original song subject. Cheers. Thanks. Love your descriptor, cruisy! Glad you enjoyed it:) Great song and production. Like others, you really do vocals right... Nice song all around.
You've covered coffee, so is tea next? What rhymes with sassafras?
enjoyed my listen.
Charlie Sassafrass? I don't know, alas? Thank you for the listen, Charlie:) Hi Scott,
funny clever write. Good vocals and nice arrangement. Enjoyable listen.
Guenter Scott Nice sounding song. Excellent vocal track and the acoustic guitar has a nice sound. Guenter, Jim, thank you both. My spare-room studio is not ideal for recording. Hooray for EQ. Appreciate the listens and the feedback. A very good write, Scott. Solid start to finish. Good humor without ever getting "silly". Nice.
Excellent vocal - very well recorded and sitting in the mix perfectly. Good harmonies, too... Good arrangement.
And some nice pickin'....
Very enjoyable listen.
floyd Music to my ears, Floyd. Thanks. Very cool song!! As Floyd said, fun but not silly. It works on all levels for me. Vocal is excellent and mix is great. Really well done in every way!! Take care. Greg Thanks, Greg. Really appreciate those kind words. Great tune and nice guitar work too. My friends brought me some chicory coffee from New Orleans some time ago . Nice indeed. Thanks. We have some company arriving soon and will probably drop by Cafe Du Monde while they're here.

Hi Olemon! Song was real nice and well done. My Grandparents used to drink coffee and chicory. That was the only kind of coffee they drank. I was just a kid and I would get to try some occasionally but did not like it. I always thought that chicory was used to stretch the coffee. Really enjoyed the song. occ Thanks so much. Yeah, I discovered it after moving down south. Liked it. Drink the local grocery's brand of Coffee & Chicory every morning. Great fun tune well written. Nice vocals and harmonies. Rob. Thanks, Rob:) Scott, This is a great listen. Everything fits together seamlessly and the whole presentation sounds as professional as anything. I'm a fan of coffee and chicory. I used to always keep a bottle of the below stuff in my cupboard. For some reason or other, when I last ran out, I never replaced it. I'm off to the supermarket to grab some now that you've reminded me. (According to the internet, it's still sold here!) All the best, Noel Hey, Noel. Saying it sounds professional, well, that is one heck of a compliment. Thank you! When my Mom first visited, she tried Coffee & Chicory and liked it too. I'd send her some from time to time, but she found it in the stores up north too. Hi Scott. Really enjoyed this one. Congrats on the guitar playing. It really adds something. We have coffee called Ricoffee. 100% pure chicory I think! Thanks, Josie. I don't play lead very much. I am thrilled you enjoyed it. Chicory was used when coffee was scarce or not available...maybe pure chicory caught on. Hi, Scotty !:))
I like this tune and everything about it and about coffee also ( I´m a heavy coffedrinker from the country where they drink most coffee in the whole world (per cap i.e.) !!!
....but, hey man,.....chicory in the cofee ????? uh !!!
Cheers Dani I had to do a little research, Dani, so as not to misrepresent the facts, but yeah, chicory in the coffee has been around for quite a while:) I'm glad you relate to the song. Thanks. Hi Scott,
This is a very professional song. Both the musical arrangement and certainly the vocals. We definitely like it!
Rob and Anne-Marie And I definitely like that positive critique. Means a lot. Thank you, both:) Very cool song!! As Floyd said, fun but not silly. It works on all levels for me. Vocal is excellent and mix is great. Really well done in every way!! Take care. Greg A big +1! That was some very good geetar picking also! Thanks so much, Mario, for the listens and the comments! I really appreciate them:)

Scott, Somehow I missed this but, in my mind anyway this is a perfect time to comment because after eating we have coffee, with chicory. Altho' I am a major coffee lover, the stronger the better, I have never tried it with chicory. I shall look for it in my local supermarkets and hope that the welsh are adventurous for once!! I really like what sounds like a little laugh on the word substitute. The vocals are excellent, The Rts fit so well to your guitar playing. I turned this loud and gave the neighbours a blast as I have done with others on the front page but still no comments grrr Now to listen to your other songs. Excellent Alyn

Thanks for the kind remarks, Alyn. Glad you like the song. Yeah, I did chuckle on that word, hoped it would convey some levity and set up the overall tone of the tune. Good luck in your quest:)

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
