There's a ton to like about this, e.g., the lyric,
the melody, the vocal, the RT choice, the pickin'
and the mix. Guess that about covers the song.

It ALL works well!

One for the SC playlist indeed.

Playlist worthy? I am flattered, truly. Thank you.

Hi Scott,

This is a very professional song. Both the musical arrangement and certainly the vocals. We definitely like it!

Thank you. The song was born of that every-morning stumble to the kitchen. I didn't set out to write about Chicory, just turned out that way:)

Appreciate that, Josie. I had never drank it either, until landing in the south. It's just coffee with a little roasted Chicory mixed in. Glad you enjoyed the tune.

Sassafrass? I don't know, alas? Thank you for the listen, Charlie:)

Guenter, Jim, thank you both. My spare-room studio is not ideal for recording. Hooray for EQ. Appreciate the listens and the feedback.

Music to my ears, Floyd. Thanks.

Thanks. We have some company arriving soon and will probably drop by Cafe Du Monde while they're here.

Thanks so much. Yeah, I discovered it after moving down south. Liked it. Drink the local grocery's brand of Coffee & Chicory every morning.

I'm a fan of coffee and chicory. I used to always keep a bottle of the below stuff in my cupboard.

For some reason or other, when I last ran out, I never replaced it. I'm off to the supermarket to grab some now that you've reminded me. (According to the internet, it's still sold here!)

All the best,
Noel

Hey, Noel. Saying it sounds professional, well, that is one heck of a compliment. Thank you!

When my Mom first visited, she tried Coffee & Chicory and liked it too. I'd send her some from time to time, but she found it in the stores up north too.

Thanks, Josie. I don't play lead very much. I am thrilled you enjoyed it.

Chicory was used when coffee was scarce or not available...maybe pure chicory caught on.

I had to do a little research, Dani, so as not to misrepresent the facts, but yeah, chicory in the coffee has been around for quite a while:) I'm glad you relate to the song. Thanks.

Scott,
Somehow I missed this but, in my mind anyway this is a perfect time to comment because after eating we have coffee, with chicory. Altho' I am a major coffee lover, the stronger the better, I have never tried it with chicory. I shall look for it in my local supermarkets and hope that the welsh are adventurous for once!!

I really like what sounds like a little laugh on the word substitute.
The vocals are excellent, The Rts fit so well to your guitar playing.

I turned this loud and gave the neighbours a blast as I have done with others on the front page but still no comments grrr grin

Now to listen to your other songs.

Excellent

Alyn

I missed your feedback. Thanks for the kind remarks, Alyn. Glad you like the song. Yeah, I did chuckle on that word, hoped it would convey some levity and set up the overall tone of the tune. Good luck in your quest:)

Nice one Scott. Everything works. Love the live guitar - nice picking there.

Now you've got me Jonesin' for a hot beignet! ROAD TRIP TO NAWLINS! grin

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
