Ok, I will admit I passed over listening to this song for a few days, because of the title. BUT PLEASE HEAR ME OUT...it's not the the title is bad. I actually think it's GREAT! All I can come up with was the two concepts seemed so far apart to me that my simple brain didn't want to "go there." I have no idea. I will tell you flat out I am stupid sometimes. That's as blunt as I can say that!

Now, what DID get me to eventually listen to it (just now) was seeing it was from YOU. I have always liked and respected you, so because of that, I gave it a listen. I AM SO GLAD I DID!

I REALLY liked this song. It's stuck in my head right now as I'm typing this. What a cool feel, and fun song. It really is different than what I expected, in EVERY right way!

Thanks for sharing this! VERY well done!

Now I am going to work on my open-minded-ness! Gotta keep that in check so I don't lose out on gems like this one!

You didn't happen to mee a guy named John White when you were there, did you? Negril has always been a little secret - and what a beach!

Most excellent all the way around. Not using the
typical Reggae drums gives it a very cool hybrid
feel.

And you DELIVERED the vocal!

Fun!

J&B,

Thanks for the listen. That actually has three separate drum tracks on it. There are two different Reggae loops behind the standard kit.

Waiting for the next I75 collab.......... grin

Merry Christmas!

Bob,

Fantastic! Songwriting doesn't get any better than this - creativity, the simplicity of an expert and a great deal of skill all combined. The arrangement and production are very inventive. I totally enjoyed the listen. I bet you and Penny sound excellent live!

All the best to you both,
Noel

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
