Wow!! Great song!! To be honest, a lot of praise/worship songs kind of feel trite and fall flat for me. But this is beautiful. Very inspired. Wonderful lyric and music that carries it perfectly. I've liked pretty much everything you've posted but this is my favorite! Take care. Greg

I always look forward to your posts, and as usual, this song doesn't disappoint. Solid production, with nice flourishes that keep it interesting.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Steve...

Always great to see your name pop up! Means we are in for a treat.

[Thanks for checking in on "Shadow Of A Man" - and the nice comments. It's had a good run, so I did not want to bump it again..]

What a solid song! Nice tight, uncluttered songwriting. Nice sing-able melody. Overall, once of your best (among so many good ones).

Your vocals are always so well done! Sweet harmonies!

(Generally your productions (which as I have said before are the reason I bought BIAB - a forever thank you for that!!!) have RTs that I have not considered... this time, you have gathered a bunch of my favorites...The only one I haven't used before is the RootsRockTremolo - and it just happens I am using in a song I'm working on now...so maybe I'm catching up! smile )

Man! you are so good at putting this all together. Always bringing things in at the right time - in the right way... Your stops and holds are done so seamlessly, naturally - which, at times, takes some effort.

What is the effect @ 1:30?

Nice job with the solos - works nicely under the vocal going out (I'm a fan of that use of a solo...)

Terrific work. As always. I hope that you will eventually find more time to share more of your work with us...

Hi Steve,

great song again. Beautiful vocals and
harmonies. Great arrangement and mix.
Like Floyd I'd like to know where that
arpeggio at 1:30 comes from.
Very enjoyable listen.

Steve, You have again produced a beautiful song. Great writing, singing and production. As floyd said you were instrumental ( pun intended ) in my initial foray into the real tracks edition of Biab. You set the bar then and continue to do so now. As floyd pointed out "Man! you are so good at putting this all together. Always bringing things in at the right time - in the right way... Your stops and holds are done so seamlessly, naturally - which, at times, takes some effort." This is the use of Biab at the highest level. Terrific listen, Tom

Hi Steve,

This is fantastic song and mix. If anyone wants to know what Biab is capable of in the right hands, this would be an excellent example.

Loved it !

We've always liked that Celtic acoustic and you made wonderful
use of it. BiaB offers so many ways to create "bands" but we
are always drawn to an eclectic choice of RT's like this tune.
Creativity like your's takes productions to another level and
this song is certainly no exception.

There are a lot of subtleties in this mix that I hear but would
not be able to reproduce. Masterful production.

The lyric is poetry and the vocals are outstanding.

Yep, we like it...a lot!!

Thank you Floyd. You are too kind! I really appreciate your generous comments.

The effect at 1:30 is a retro-synth I have in Logic Pro-X. Actually, I was inspired to use that sound by an old Townshend song that the Who did. He used a lot of that kind of stuff. Even though this song is a totally different style, I thought it would fit in there. Glad you like this one. I always appreciate hearing from you!

Steve!

It's terrific to see you again smile

As floyd said...

Quote:

That's absolutely true! As people on these forums have said many times, no-one does orchestration like you. Whenever I listen to your work, I'm always left full of admiration for your ability.

This is an incredibly well written song. The music is sensational and the lyrics are outstanding. If anyone was looking for a format for lyric development, you've presented an excellent model. As each verse progresses, it's like the lyrics' camera is being pulled further and further back to encompass more and more. To parallel this, you increase the energy and drive of the backing.... really fantastic work! What great singing, too!

All the best,
Noel

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
