A little song to Penelope on our Anniversary. All BIAB except for a little rhythm and 2nd guitar.

The Little Things

©2015 Robert Randall Burke

An old guitar
And a beat up car
Just a couple dreamers
Wishin' on a star
We were young and blind
But the world was kind
I never thought
We'd ever get this far.

It's the little things
The little things
That can make a pauper
Feel just like a king
It's the little things
The little things
That make the biggest difference in the world.

Smoky cabarets
California days
Singin' for our supper
In the small cafes
We were young and free
You completed me
And saved me from my
Restless outlaw ways.

HI Bob ...

Happy anniversary to you and Penelope!!!

This reminds me of something Ed Bruce would have done in the late 80's. His voice is deeper than yours, but you have a lot of similarities otherwise.

Pretty song! Simple but enough of everything without a lot of stuff to distract from the great vocal and the message. We loved it!

A terrific write, Robert...

You are a master at painting perfect pictures in so few words. This fits our story as well as it does yours (though ours took place on the East Coast - Florida to Philly)...

Happy Anniversary!

How about letting Penelope play bass on one of these?.... (does she sing???)

I like it!

Nice lyrics Bob! You did a good job in writing this one. I enjoyed the tune and your vocals. Yeah, just the little things made the difference in this song.

It's a great day when all the little things come together -

Both in song and in life.

No little thing here, just another top notch song.

Happy Anniversary.

Hi Bob.

Another country classic!

Great choice of instruments and I always like the way you get so much emotion into the vocals.

Perfect arrangement and mix.

Amen....something the two of us have

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2020 for Mac … WOW!

"Dr. Dave" Walker (Dr. Dave On Music) recently received Band-in-a-Box® 2020 for Mac, and he absolutely loves it!

He's written his thoughts in detail, which can (and definitely should) be read here: Band-in-a-Box 2020 for Mac … WOW!

"Band-in-a-Box 2020 is a huge advance over even BB2019, with easier to use, more powerful features that give you more information while creating more musical results. You have never had more control of more features which are now much easier to find. The move forward with this version is astonishing. Again … WOW!

My very highest recommendation. Just upgrade! Or if for some strange reason you don’t have it yet, BUY THIS ONE! It will change your musical life!"

#TipTuesday - Style Changes in Band-in-a-Box®

Head to our Tips & Tricks forum to read what other Band-in-a-Box users have discovered about the program!

Like mrgeeze's recent post Style Changes within a song.. another great BIAB feature.

...My arrangement's bass Real Track was 397 (bass Acoustic Paul).
Solid but not really what I wanted for a solo.

I hit the F5 key to bring up bar setting and poked around till i found the Real Tracks command button in the upper right.
Clicked on that & quickly change the bass to 452 (Soloist (bluesy).
12 bars later I did the same and switched it back to 397.

The results were excellent...
