This is my first song with lyric. Posted request for lyric author, and got a draft from Neil. As a temporary draft for the vocals, I just used Sinsy. Need some advice on how to get the best out of her also.... I added harmony, but not sure if the final song will have it.. I added harmony only for 8 bars, but the result became the whole song. No idea why... Is there a way to work on the vocal track to make it sound better?

That was quick! Interesting. I've never checked out Sinsy. I'll try to put down a vocal for fun.

Yeah, this is the first song for me also trying it.. There are some issues I hope I can get help on here;

1. Unsure of the best way to split a word when it goes over more than one note.. I used "Un-secur-ity", but it did not always sounded right.

2. I transposed the song down 3 semitone to get it lower, and it correctly transposed also Sinsy. But when I made some correction to the lyrics, and run it again, Sinsy came back singing in a wrong key. How to avoid that?

Hi Trygve,

nice chord progression and melody.
You will never be satisfied with Sinsy no matter how hard
you try. "She" is just not natural at all.
Either you try a vocaloid or better ask someone on the forum. We've got some great female vocals here.

Thank's a lot Guenter. Yeah, I am not expecting Sinsy to be like a human, just want it to sound and pronounce a bit better... Guess there is some secrets about it.. My wife have a good voice and will be my singer, but she need to practice a lot, because, as a typically Philippino woman she is very shy.. So she like to practice along with another voice, rather then a instrument alone...

Man,

If I were you I would add some warming vocal EQ presets (check out IK Multimedia's very cheap Classic EQ/Limiter bundle, etc.) put a little reverb on the vocals, push the vocals way out front and do a whole album with this sound in different styles. I think it is wicked cool and different. I love the robotic thing. I think you
have just invented a genre. I totally dig it man.

Very interesting Leo. I applaud you for doing this. I looked at trying a vocaloid a while back but it seemed too difficult to get a natural sounding voice. I have heard some that do a fair job of it. I hope you don't give up like I did for you have gone way beyond where I was with it. Enjoyed listening.

Thank u David for ur very encouraging words.... I also think there is a future for this kind of style.. Love to continue !

Sonny, I also was checking out vocaloid some years back, but when I checked it out more now after Guenter mentioned it, I was really blown away over the quality of this software... Imagine if PG-Music could integrate it in BiaB ! Seems like it it somewhat same as RealTracks, just vocals....
I was listening to this songs; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOnA7c0pzdo&list=PL4h4fTQZ8cdmTh9V9OGPRwbSCLTy9j91H

My plan is to make something similar, because I know there is so many out there love to hear about they're zodiac sign, so why not make songs about it ?

normally, there is no "fixing" to a synth vocal. You can't give it what isn't there to start with.

No amount of EQ or FX will make my voice sound like George Strait. Same is true here.

Your best option is to get a live human singer to do the vocal track. Please re-post the song link when you do. Those vocaloids are starting to get pretty good with some of the things they can do. Non-English words are often the best with the loids....

Just a note.... I forget the process I had to use to get your song to play... it involved a download, then find it, and try to use one of the players on my computer to play it....I finally got is playing after several minutes of messing around with it...

..... please open an account on soundcloud or soundclick and put the songs on one of those sites as an MP3. They will stream the song effortlessly for the listener. Little things like that are huge if you want people to listen to a song for whatever the reason. It's also easy to upload works in progress to get comments and then delete them to make way for the finished song. Just my 2 cents.

You can find my music at:

Add nothing that adds nothing to the music.
You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.

The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Hi Guitarhacker... Yeah, I do have an account on soundcloud, and have manage to get several of my song to upload there.. but the problem is my low speed internet connection.. Soundcloud does not have this ability to retain the file for uploading if the speed goes down to zero and then back to "normal" after a few second... The upload just start over again from the beginning... So, some days I am just not able to get anything up there.. Is there an alternative that does not have this "drawback"?

Google drive manage this, so that's why I have to resort to google drive with some of my songs.. Sorry for all the extra trouble...

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
