Black Dog Blues

Black Dog Blues
I'm in the middle of blacked out abyss.
I'm hiding in the dark I been put on the list.
I'm a running and I'm hiding away.
With rain coming its a black dog kind of day.

Caught in a vice, that wont release its grip.
This poison wine only I can sip.
I'm falling deeper, I cant make my way.
With rain coming its a black dog kind of day.
..........................................................................

I'm calling out to you Oh please don't leave me alone.
The skies started falling and the elements groan.
My unique disposition on a black dog kind of day.

Very cool. Loved the vocals and harmonies. Guitar shuffle in the back track was excellent. Loved your guitar tone in the solo.

Sounds great, low down and dirty blues type of feel good. Very good mix and vocals shine.

Nothing better than a good original blues song in my opinion, so many people just do covers when it comes to blues.

This is great, great lyrics and vocal, nice job on the solo and mix too.

Loved it, I left you a review over there too.

Hey Rob, sorry you've not been too good - hope things are on the mend.

A classic piece of traditional blues with a great atmosphere.

Good choice of instruments, a great mix and excellent vocals with super harmonies.

Good to see you posting again.

Hi Sergio. No the dog is a pic from Google.
I tried to find a pic that fit the mood of the music.
I love dogs but these days they are worse than kids. smile

My thoughts exactly!

I started to make other comparisons, but so many people have played the blues, it's pretty hard to narrow the comparison down to any one group... but the Elvis voice is distinctive enough to note!

Regarding what you personally add to the song: vocals are spot on.. your pitch is wonderful! And considering all the ways a 3 chord blues progression can be presented, I really liked your choice of instruments... especially the somewhat dark guitar.

I also like your lyrics... and I will compare them to Jim Morrison's style of lyric writing. A little bit cryptic, but elemental and very good at painting the black dog mood you're shooting for!

All in all a very engaging song... bluesy but not depressing. Good job!

Great to see you back Rob and what a return!

We love blues and the grittier the better. This has
it all.

One rarely sees this type of cool imagery in a
blues number. The write, the laid back vocal,
the guitar and the entire production is
top shelf.

Great!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
