A rough edged song I wrote several months back. I got the inspiration for this from the well-known British band Fischer-Z from the 80s. Singer John Watts combined his falsetto voice with his 'real' voice on the choruses.
This is a little bit different from our usual work, so is the video which I created in MoviePlus X6

Style is ALTROCK4.STY (Alternative Rock 4 style)

Clean midi guitar: Kontakt
RealTracks:
388:Bass, Electric, Metal Ev 120
1003:Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Rhythm ClassicRockPicking Ev16 065
391:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Metal Ev 120
1168:Guitar, Electric, Soloist RockBalladBrent Ev 065 (Bluesy)
RealDrums: CRock8-B^2-a:HHSnr, b:RdSnr/Rock Nirvana (RealDrums for Biab third-party)
I did the additonal electric guitar myself.

Hope you like it!

As always any comments are welcome.

Rob

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie,

Fantastic arrangement and production... it's very easy to hear that this genre is one that you feel very at home with.

Which ever way I look at it, there's a huge amount of musical talent on show with this song. At the end of the journey, the only thought that remained in my mind was "Rob really knows his stuff incredibly well!".

All the best to you both smile
Noel

after listening to a song, the million dollar question is how to describe what you've just heard. Do you mention the mix? The chords? The instrumentation? The lyrics? Yeah, usually that's where I tend to go... but you are consistently right in the pocket on all of those things.

So on this song I'll start with the assumption that all of the technical stuff is good, and go straight to my main qualifier of a good song: This is extremely catchy! I was hooked from the very start... I don't know how you come up with so many really INTERESTING and well done projects, one after the other...

In my opinion the body of your work is in a class with songs that have made other people rich. I can only guess that you just have a 6th sense about what works, and you know how to recreate the recipe in a lot of different flavors!

I liked this one a lot

Hi R & A-M.

Maybe it is a bit different from your usual stuff, but you certainly know what you're doing with this.

A great driving beat which captures the genre perfectly and a super vocal to top it off.

Super video - I'm using MoviePlus X6 myself and find it really powerful. Unbeatable for the price.

Cheers, ROG.

Man... you should be famous.

This is, IMHO, the best song/video yet from you guys.

Nice work all the way around.

Wow!

Just when we were settling in with what had become a signature (in a good way)
Rob & Ann-Marie sound you guys turn every thing upside down.

Stunning audio and video production and the ever present Bowie edge just
works so well.

Not to over use the word and at the risk of being redundant with other
posters - this is brilliant.

We have some friends who are gonna love this as we did!

Thanks y'all for the positive comments!

Being compared to David Bowie is always OK ;-)
Although I'm getting nowhere near his creativity and uniqueness, I do try to come up with as many different things possible (especially in my solo projects).
Band in a Box has so many different styles and possible approaches, so why not try out.... anything!
Although we make lots of ballads because we like those (they come relatively easy to us), the real challenge is to do something we didn't do before.
Composing is one thing, the final mixing process is about 60% of the work we put in to it. I'm quite a perfectionist when it comes to that, which I actually cannot afford with my RSI problems, but it's sort of 'no pain, no gain' for me.

Thanks again.
Rob

Exceptional music, Rob!

Each piece adds to the whole. So very well put together.

The opening guitar figure is exquisite. The vocal is gorgeous. The metal rhythm against that worked nicely - also with that vocal... Great job on the solos - fit nicely in. The drums are well done - but as it get into the middle of the song, I was wanting them to be significantly louder.

One of your best (among many "bests").

Cool video.
