Along with Lady Mysterious, Fly and Matilda, this is our 4th collab with S.A. singer-songwriter Paddy Gobel. This one was entirely written and arranged by Paddy himself, we only did the vocals and the video. Hope you like it, any comments are welcome.

Since you listed real tracks, I'll assume that your collaborator also uses Band in the Box to write his songs... correct? Cool!
Well, he couldn't have asked two better collaborators to sing and make his video! Those are two of your strengths!
Great clips used in the video! Across the board they were evocative images! And I always enjoy your singing.. I think you have one of the best voices on the forum, and Anne Marie makes the perfect singing companion!
I'm curious to know if it seems odd to sing somebody else's song. When you sing your own song, you are totally invested in it... but in a case like this you walk up to the mic with a totally objective perception of the song (or so I imagine)
"we only did the vocals and the video." You did a lot. Without your vocals this nice song wouldn't be what it is. And the subtle choice of clips is the icing. Very enjoyable listen and watch.

P.S. What happened to your bedroom song competition?
Really well done!! Great collab. The arrangement is sweet-great use of the fiddle and pedal steel. The production and mix are up to your usual very high standards. Very nice in every way!! Take care. Greg

This is fantastic! There's a clarity in the sound of the arrangement that I strive for but never manage to achieve... absolutely top notch! Phrases that sprang to mind as I listened were: "I don't think I've heard Rob sing better", "Anne-Marie's ability to harmonise is incredible", "How does he create such a perfect sound?", "really nice music", "outstanding video".
thanks Patrick! well, as for as interpreting someone else's song, this comes quite natural to us. Paddy's musical taste comes very close to ours, therefore the vocals are never really a problem. Besides, he send us a demo of the vocal line.
Speaking of videos: we really love your animation stuff! That must be a whole lot of work compared to the videos we do. We're almost afraid to ask, but we would love to have one of those videos for our own songs ;-)

I seriously doubt that! Your videos are much more sophisticated than mine, and you probably spend a lot more time searching for resources that visualize the lyrics in your songs.. to me, that must require a lot of patience and good judgement (two attributes I lack)

I'd be honored to contribute anything whatsoever to one of your top-notch projects! Just let me know how you want to approach it. I can't promise a fast turnaround, I have so many irons in the fire I'm already treading water to keep from drowning! But probably the way to go would be to start with the song (preferably a funny one, or the cartoon style animation would undermine the serious nature of the message).
I could try a different animation style for a more serious song... but that would require a learning curve that would increase the turnaround time.. and I think Anne-Marie's videos are so masterful at capturing the intent of your songs that anything I came up with would be a step backward in comparison.
A nice presentation. Interesting to hear you guys singing a different style than your usual. Tell Paddy he needs to jump in and be a part of the forum...
Thank you Rob and Anne-Marie, your love of creating music and song goes far beyond just ‘yourselves you love to help and guide people who share that love. I can bear witness to that in bucket loads Your patience with this as yet still a dumb BiaB bunny, shows a generosity of spirit, matched only by your unique arrangement, and musical prowess. Paddy
Thank you for your positive comment. Sadly we weren't one of the winners of the bedroom song competition. Those who did win were supposed to be called tonight with Skype. well, we didn't hear anything so... Like you mentioned before, it was apparently all about the amount of views.
regards, Rob & Anne-Marie

thanks Greg! You're right about the very cool use of fiddle and pedal steel, Paddy did a great job on that.

"Not a hair on her head needs fixing". Love that line. Good collab, Rob Anne-Marie and Paddy. (You have a slight Bob Dylan twang on this one Rob). Enjoyed it!

Revisit: Eyes on Success featuring PG Music Inc., Band-in-a-Box®, and the Updated JAWS Script
In the past, Eyes on Success featured an episode that discussed our company history and Band-in-a-Box® program with Tobin, our chief development officer, including how Band-in-a-Box® is even more accessible with the help of their JAWS screen reader scripts!
Later on this month, Eyes on Success will be releasing an episode that features Gudrun Brunot talking about her new tutorials about how to use Band-in-a-Box® with JAWS.
It's a great idea to pair the two episodes together!

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!
Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review
Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!
"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
