This is a new song titled "Crystal Universe". A very beautiful song. Probably my best melody so far!

https://soundcloud.com/hirokata1121/crystal-universe

I wanted to make the accompaniment as simple as possible so that it does not spoil the melody, so I used just one MIDI style: ARPORK34.STY (Orchestral arpeggio 3/4).

As usual, I used Sonar X3 to assign VSTi instruments to the MIDI tracks. The original style assigns Piano for the arpeggio play. I changed it from Piano to Strings Short Bow.

I hope you like it.

Thank you for your kind comment.Yes, BIAB is really a great application. It provides a number of good arrangement styles to almost any genre of music. And the resultant song is incredibly nice! It is like the magic.

Thank you for your comment.I am glad you like the song. I am glad you also think 'simplicity' is very important for song composition. I must confess I may tend to use rather complex arrangements smile

When MIDI first entered the music scene I had high hopes that the tools it provided would lead to a renaissance of new classical compositions... but for the most part, that doesn't seem to have happened.

However, this work of yours gives me hope that there are still some musicians out there who have the desire and skill to create enduring works of beauty.

I like everything about this! Having spent quite a lot of time myself trying to get orchestral instruments to sound realistic, I am very impressed by the high quality of the overall composition.

I'm a bit surprised that nobody has mentioned the similarities between certain passages of this song and the Christmas carol "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"

Hi Pat,

Thank you very much for your comment. I am very impressed by what you mentioned. You pursue, with your significant energy, kind of revolution or renaissance of classical compositions. I think it is great effort. From that point of view, however, I have to say I am not the type of person who can make it happen at all. I just want to create beautiful songs not only of classical but also of pop, new age, and so on. If my work has given you any hope though, it is a great honor for me.

Thank you also for pointing out the similarity between part of my melody and the Christmas carol "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear". I checked the youtube video you kindly showed the link to it, and I was very much surprised by their resemblance. I thought I do not know the song because I am not a Christian. To make sure, I have checked my music library to see if I have the song and listened to it, and found one! Now that it is clear I have listened to the song, the only thing I can say is there may be possibilities that my brain remembered its melody somehow and I was influenced by it unconsciously. I am sure the song is well known to so many people. If I noticed the resemblance, I could change that part of the melody.

Lastly, I thank you again for your comment. I am glad you like my song anyway.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
