I`m a rookie experiencing a recurring problem with vocal tracks (recorded into the latest version of BIAB) - on some songs the vocal is recorded (mic levels fine on VU meter, Wav file shows the size of recording) but the vocal track will not playback. My driver & soundcard settings etc are unchanged from other songs where the recording works just fine...anyone familiar with this problem?

Welcome to the forums.
Is the Audio track volume up sufficiently loud (say 90)?
On the bottom right corner of the mixer window, you'll see "Audio+" on a button. Click on this to expose the Audio controls.

Yes the audio is at max ( I`ve even tried boosting the db`s from the audio edit window). Wave form is clearly visible & I can play the recording if I go directly to the wav file in bb but its not there at all on song playback.

Also make sure no FX are on the track that could be muting it.
Make your sound your own!

I usually record with Nectar Elements on but have the same result with VST plugins disabled- not sure what other FX to check for?
Thinking I might have done something strange on the initial settup of the songs in question ( 2 out of a dozen or so which are all fine on playback), I recreated one in a new file using the same RealTracks and the issue is there again.

Strange... if I erase and then reinstall all the Real Tracks the audio recording works & plays back as it should. If I then save the song and reopen it, the vocal track again will not play. Almost ready to try recording the vocal in RealBand... any tips on how to transfer the song with the chords from BIAB appreciated.

Ok, RB works for recording on the song, though no chords came with the file ... here goes another learning curve.

Robert, When you opened the SGU/MGU file in Realband, was the audio file there? Also, in BIAB, when you open the Audio track dialogue (shown below), is the 'Kill Audio' button available or is it grayed out like in the image below?  Regards, Noel

The audio track does open & plays fine in RB.
It is not grayed out (ie can be deleted) in the BIAB audio window.
I`ll begin getting up to speed with RB & continue to look for the source of the problem in BIAB.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
