Hello:
I used ptw and biab on the P.C. for many years. I used to do a single in bars and what not & have 100+ .seq files. I now use a mac and mainstage exclusively for my live rig. What I really loved about using ptw live was the karaoke style lyrics and chord changes in real time. Im looking in to how to convert my show so that I can have a mainstage patch for each song and make a silent video of the chords/lyrics and use an apple script to trigger the quicktime video. (It would not have to time up exactly with the audio file but be somewhat in the ballpark) Alternatively there might be a way to create an apple script to trigger biab to play a certain file? this would be really cool as well...does anybody here do anything sililar with biab for mac & mainstage? .....Thanks in advance:)

Jeff, Very interesting posting.

Actually never thought of linking Apple's Mainstage 3 ( version 3.1.1 ) with Mac BinaB 2016.

What do you mean by " ptw " ??

And, just exactly how do you link Mainstage 3 and BinaB i.e. what are your settings ?

Thanks for the reply..I was saying ptw as short for power tracks pro audio....Well my settings are pretty much mainstage for everything live....electric guitar, keyboards and vocal effects...Im just really hooked on the visual display that biab and ptw both have for live performance...My rough mental plan was to just use mainstage and drop an audio file in to one of the tracks for my backup band and have a silent video play with the lyrics/chords displaying...or alternatively have some sort of apple script that starts biab (with the sounds silenced just for the visual display)

Thanks for the reply:
I can look. this is a very interesting angle. What kind of a set up are you thinking I could use with conductor in tandem with mainstage?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
