So, I just bought the new Xtra styles for $29 while on a 2 day pit stop before heading to NYC. It said they were 164 pre-mixed and pre-engineered styles ready to go, so I thought that was a good deal and I would take one for a spin.

https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs/sanctuary

I purposefully did not try to get fancy because I wanted to see how they would sound all by themselves without throwing in a bunch of extra stuff.

So this is a simple song, but I hope you like it. I highly recommend those Xtra Styles. They are killer. Just like they said, they are practically pre-engineered and ready to go, minus whatever tweaks you want to give. This is a singer songwriter style called ANCHOR.

Sanctuary

By David Snyder

V1

Sometimes you win
Sometimes you lose
you never get a chance to choose
then you read the front page news
and you could say to yourself
what’s the use

CH 1:

So I’m glad you’ve been
My sanctuary in the storm
Yeah the world is cold as money baby
But you’re the fire that keeps me warm

V2

Sometimes the world
Will break your heart
Sometimes love rips you all apart
You look overboard, searching for clues
tangled up in the fishnet
you see the lost and the confused

CH 2:

So I’m glad you’ve been
My sanctuary in the storm
I pull up my anchor
Even though my sails are torn
And I sail towards the shoreline
And I fall into your arms
Yes you’ve always been
my sanctuary in the storm

Break: Ooooooh

Ch 3

Yes you’ve always been
My sanctuary in the storm
And I sail towards the shoreline
And I fall in to your arms
Yes you’ve always been my sanctuary in the storm
Yes you’ve always been my sanctuary in the storm

Good song! Great lyrics. I dig your vocal, the way your phrase your vocal lines.

David, Nice write, lyrics are well conceived with a melody that compliments them perfectly. The production sounds good. I'll have to check out the new Xtra styles. Tom

David,

I like the tenderness of your vocals on this.
The extended 2nd chorus has my favourite lines:

I pull up my anchor
Even though my sails are torn

and those oohs are just right....I wanted to hear more!
I think you`ve convinced me the new styles are a good buy.

Thanks Bob! You will love those Xtra styles if you don't already have them. Some of the singer songwriters ones are right up your alley with the current masterieces you are writing that production style you are cultivating. You will absolutely love them. Trust me.

Sometimes you win sometimes you lose! Isn't that just true. Now if only we can get the winning to outweigh the losing. Nice song. Loved the laid back vocal.
