This is a song I wrote many years ago but just now got around to putting together with some RealTracks. It's about realizing that you can't give up. It's not too late to be what you might have been! There are many ingredients in this song the recipe is as follows:

BIAB
Bass - 1418 Southern Rock Ev16 85
Drums - Jazz Funk Pop
Piano - 2195 Electric Vintage Cool Jazz Pop Held Ev16 85
Strings - 1808 Synth Pad Pop Modern Groove Ev16 75
Guitar - 1637 Electric Rhythm Jazz Funk Breezy Chords Ev16 75
Sax - Alto Soloist Smooth Jazz Poppy Ev16 90

Me
Guitar solo parts
Vocals
Synth parts
Percussion
Lyrics are in the Youtube video

Beautiful song Torrey. The harmonies were sweet. The guitar dancing in the back was very cool

Torrey,

Again a crystal-clear mix (what mastering are you using?)
And very Donald Fagan sounding ;-)

This is fantastic!! Really nice music, and really nice message. Sweet and inspiring. Reminds me of the light jazzy pop of the 90's that I miss so much. Thanks for bringing that vibe back Torrey. Great outro! Beautifully done on every level!! Take care. Greg

Torry, very professionally put together, mixed, produced and delivered.

The vocals are outstanding. The choice of sax fills gives absolutely outstanding edge to the song.

Enjoyed very note.

Torrey,

I enjoyed listening to a style I don`t usually go for- but there`s a really cool, tasteful jazz pop groove to this and you have some serious guitar skills that add the icing.
As others have noted, the production here is seamless.
Very good!

Hello, Torrey

Very beautiful song. Really nice music and very professionally.
Your vocal and chorus are so pleasant.
The twin guitar solos are outstanding.
This tune is filled with pop feeling.
It reminds me of the songs by Daryl Hall & John Oates, Burt Bacharach, Jimmy Web, Richard Carpenter, Elvis Costello, etc.
I like this song very much.
Very enjoyable listen.

Best Regards.

Torrey,

"It's not too late to be what you might have been"

Those words really hit home to me at the moment as I have a "little" fight regarding my past career.

This song gave me a little hope, thank you Torrey!

enjoyed

Torrey,

I'm glad that you revisited the song; you have done a great job.
The message is also strong and positive which we could all do with more of in these troubled times.

Great sounding mix and I love the harmony guitars (also dueting with the harmony vocals is so cool).
That reverby Sax is gorgeous too. In places I hear shades of Gino Vannelli.

Excellent work,
Jez

Thanks to all for the kind words about this song. And an extra big thanks to the folks at PG Music for providing the tools to help make my vision for this song a reality! As for Rob and Anne-Marie's question, the mastering tools I use are stock plugins that come with Studio One that have been tweaked a little which consist of eq, binaural panning, compressor and limiter. Thanks, Torrey.

Wow, my jaw is on the floor after that closing double guitar solo... Amazing job! I agree about the Donald Fagen influence, which is always a good thing in my opinion!

"It's not too late to be what you might have been"

Great line of many....this is a pro sounding production all the way around.

And that includes the outstanding guitar, vocals and write. And on top
of that you put together a band that sounds like y'all have been working
together for years.

This a a wonderful addition to our SC playlist.

We enjoyed it very much and will continue to do so!

Thanks Noel96, Janice and Bud, and 90db for all the uplifting words about this song. I do have a few more songs I need to dust off and see what can be done with them using BIAB.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
