Thanks Tom for checking out the song. Was a little nervous attempting a more tradional blues song. Wanted to do it justice. I think the ending on the 5 might have been an error lol. It sounded a little weird when recording but was not sure if it was out of place or not

hey Scott,

Loved it! It's so easy and tempting to over-play when working the blues. You were very "contained" but found all the right expression in your choice of notes. Very classy and real pleasure to listen to. We loved it!!!!

Merry Christmas,

Alan & Di

Hello, Scott

I agree with Janice & Bud.
That is some classy playing. Just the right tasty mixture of mellow and hot picking'.
I also think your mellow tone is very original as blues guitar.
Love the feel and tone.

Dear "Al-David"...

Your comment(s) on "Ice Cold Winter Blues" was right on!

You hit the proverbial nail right on the noggin' when you used the word, "over-play." For some time I've harbored a vague-but-rapidly-forming suspicion that the typical audience for the "blues" seem to demand nothing less from guitar soloists than to have them gut their instrument and flog their naked backs with the strings while they scream, "Ooo-ooo, yeee-aaahhh, beat me with that gui-tar stick, daddy!!!"

What I mean is that the "blues" appears to carry quite a heavy freight of expectations in the hearts of those who enjoy listening to them, that their souls must be torn asunder by the music if they are to achieve the catharsis they seek.

The absence of such sado-masochistic drama in Scottt709's "Ice Cold Winter Blues" allows us revel in the higher realm of the "blues," where pastel tones coexist with the darker shades rising out of the "pit."

I'm thinking of something along the lines of Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Riviera Paradise" as a finer example of the tone, the feel of what I heard in "Ice Cold Winter Blues."

Thank you bluage for the awesome comments to my song. These means allot to me. I respect this genre so much. I was very nervous stepping into a traditional blues format for fear of not giving the respect it deserves. Thanks so much for checking out the song. It is really appreciated..

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
