Let's say I wanted to build a backup track for a song that changes key, tempo, or style in the same song. First example that goes to mind is Tammy Wynette's "Stand by Your Man." The composer, Billy Sherrell, is known for this technique. I think, also, George Jones' "The Grand Tour." Say, 32 Bars in F, then a 16 Bar bridge in Bb. How would you do it?
Hi Ed, In BIAB unfold your song, type in all your chords including chords for the different key where you want it to change. Then click F5 on the bar where you want your tempo and style changes and what you want BIAB to do in the appropriate boxes. Hope that helps.
One way to do this would be to make use of F5. This is the shortcut for 'Bar Settings' that's found under the right-click menu on BIAB's chord sheet.
Let's use your example of "The Grand Tour". It's a song that's 48 bars long.
1. Set the song to 48 bars.
2. Set the song's original key (in the usual settings).
3. Select bar 33.
4. Right-click on bar 33 and select 'Bar Settings' (or press F5).
5. Use the setting I've labelled #1 on the below image to set the new key.
6. If you want, you can also load in another style (#2) at this point, too.
'Bar Settings' is a very powerful tool. It can be used to control many things. If you want to find out a little more about it, have a look at page 214 in the pdf manual that comes with BIAB.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
