Note to others: this thread started in the Tech How-To forum and I suggested it be placed here instead.
Here is a comment I placed there:
I'll make a comment anyway: The number of choruses defaults to 3. If you change that, it will get saved with the song; nothing special to do. Perhaps I'm not understanding your question, so best to post there. Thanks.
Then he said it changes the number of choruses to 5.?
Here is my next advice:
Ok. That behavior is not correct. The program has not changed in that way.
Do Options, Return to Factory Settings. Close BIAB. Reboot your PC and reload BIAB. Let me know if that works.

good idea... That's the basic and - often- best way to fix a bug anyway .. I understand that (it was my job to program a few years ago...) I'll do that and I let you know. thanks Denis Ken ( ... it's better to take my songwriter name... "mimi" is the name my old friends gave to me, from "Michel" )

Your are Welcome Matt I suppose PGM is changing my username.
Bad new (but with an info from the try) : Opening BIAB, the number of choruses is set to 3... but, reloading one of my previus song, the number of choruses is automaticaly changed to 5... and then, all the songs open with 5, even if saved with an other value. May be a default value is definitevely set to 5 somewhere !?

Denis,
As a test....
Under the File menu, click on 'New' to create s brand new song file. (This will help test if the file you've been working on has issues.)
When the blank chord sheet appears, type in some chords, change the Choruses to 1, save the song and see if the 1 is saved.
Regards Noel

Just to help diagnose this, Denis, are you using a French version of BIAB?

It's as the '5' figure is stocked in a special register, may be after an action I did (I think about loop function I used), and that the program use the same register to initialize the choruses number, opening BIAB which , briefly put '3' and, then, quickly change it to '5', using the register, in a second time.
But, anyway, at the very first second, it's only a 3 I see, even if I saved an other value between 1 and 5. A 6 figure or more is saved and proposed at the re-opening of the song.

I will go on also with the support so they could test. I'll give them the Link of our exchanges so they could, may be, have some ideas of tests from our posts.
... à suivre... Merci encore.

Yes, that's the right way to solve this. Good luck.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
