Howdy, "Floyd Jane"...

Out of the two performers who's names you mentioned, I'd choose Danny Kaye because, when he wasn't acting silly (which, as a kid, I enjoyed), he could be so charming, so gentle, and sensitive, that sometimes I wonder why he didn't attract at least a few "leading man" roles...

Concerning Shigeki, if I were him, I'd "hang a shingle" out soliciting singers who require the services of a composer/arranger. Every, single, time, that I listen to his strings arrangement in "Coffee Talk" I am thrilled literally by it to the point of head-shaking amazement. And, mind you, he accomplished it using only a virtual instrument orchestra.

'Nuff said, huh? It's what made my vocal sound so good to you...

Thank you, "Floyd Jane"! As I said to "Janice" & Bud", your attention to the song was doubly appreciated because you turn out so many songs yourself that I wonder where you found the time!

Sincerely,

LOREN

Hello, "Al" and "Di"...

Bergman, and Bogart, you say???

Hm-m-mm. Actually, I was thinking more of...Archie and Edith Bunker.

'Jes kiddin', smidgeons! smile

Thanks for tuning your internal radio to me and Shigeki's channel!

Truly,

LOREN

Hey, there, Greg Johnson...

Where you wrote, "I think people still really love this traditional stuff," I agree with you!

I think what keeps alive "traditional" music of the kind that Shigecki Adachi composed in "Coffee Talk", is the presence of a beautiful melody "backed up" by equally beautiful harmonies.

It's why we hear people humming, or whistling tunes they've heard on the radio. However, though all music doesn't have to have a lovely melody and sweet harmonies to be considered "beautiful", nonetheless I believe that "beautiful" music is what everyyday listeners of the radio are seeking.

It's like a tonic that lifts sagging spirits, improves our outlook, helps us express wordless feelings to others, and therefore increases our enjoyment of life.

That you felt me and Shigeki achieved some amount of fidelity to the works of "classical composer/lyricist teams" was an especially welcome thing to hear.

Thank you, Greg Johnson, for listening so closely to "Coffee Talk"!

Respectfully,

LOREN

Dear "Torrey Bliss"...

You've got a cool name, sir! cool

Indeed, Shigeki's musicianship and production talents are on neon-bright display in "Coffee Talk".

I'm glad he permitted me to share some of the spotlight with him!

Thank you for expressing what you liked about "Coffee Talk" in such generous terms.

Sincerely,

LOREN

Shigeki Adachi and Loren,

This is incredibly impressive! As others before have noted, the strength of this collaboration is noteworthy. As I listened I couldn't shake the image of Perry Como from my mind... it's that good! I enjoyed your composition a great deal. It was a pleasure to listen to.

All the best,
Noel

Howdy, "Noel96"...

I just got off the phone after having had a chilling conversation with a "representative" of the Perry Como estate!!! shocked

The "rep" warned that if I attempted to get any mileage out of the wonderful analogy to Mr. Como that you made, that someone would come to my home, cut out my tongue, and transplant it to a thirsty cat...

...wandering in a desert...

...at the height of summer...

...and during a record-breaking drought! laugh

All kiddin' aside, I believe that if Shigeki keeps at it, it would be exceedingly likely that more worthy, professional vocalists would seek him out, simply because, if "Coffee Talk" indicates anything that is unique, identifiable, and/or that constitutes a "signature" that would set him apart, it would most certainly be, through his skill with composing and orchestrating, that he knows how to deliver emotion through his music. I know that's what I responded to in "Coffee Talk"!

And what singer who truly desires to convey intimacy, to communicate, and "connect" with an audience, would fail to notice that?

On behalf of Shigeki Adachi and me, thank you, "Noel96" for auditioning "Coffee Talk" and relating to us what you liked about it!

Sincerely,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Hello, Janice & Bud, floyd, ALan & DI, Greg, Torrey, Noel and David

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I much appreciate your kind comments and your continuous supports.
I am very glad you all like this tune though it is old-fashioned.
I was a little bit surprised that people still really loved the traditional music in the U.S.
There is almost no one to listen to this kind of music in Japan now.
It was very lucky for me to collaborate with Loren.
Once there are vocals and lyrics to the music, it got brilliant suddenly.
I would like to introduce you our collaboration again.

Thank you again to all.
Best regards.

Congratulations Shigeki and Loren and a fantastic collaberation.
I have now heard this song many times and each time I just smile.............I mean it just makes me smile, A LOT! in a very warm and pleasing way.
The feel to this delightful number is very nostalgic to me, it reminds me of certain times in my life when the world was a better place and gentle soothing music was an escape. I love the lyrics and the vocals are superb in keeping with the aura of the music.
Thank you for making me smile. Paul smile

Dear "Yorkshireknight"...

M'lord, know that your lowly servant of the musical arts hast been humbled mightily by the fine praise thou hast bestowed upon our collaboration, "Coffee Talk", composed by Sir Shigeki Adachi, the 21st Century Mantovani!

Know also, O, fair and noble knight, that though we had not a mickle of expectation of entertaining a member of the royal court as distinguished as thou truly art, nonetheless let it be said for all to hear that, indeed, t'was a smile we hoped would rise like the morning sun upon the countenances of they who would lend their ears to a performance of "Coffee Talk"!

Thank you, "Yorkshireknight", and may the smile upon thy face never fade, not for a year, nor one thousand more!

Humbly,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Hello, Sergio...

I'm glad you enjoyed the melody, thank you.

Your comment that the song was "a little sad" is intriguing. Would you be referring to the tone of the song? The lyrics? The music?

I'd like to know! Songs have many levels that are perceived differently by all those who listen to them.

Your insight would be appreciated.

Thank you for listening and sharing your response to "Coffee Talk"!

Sincerely,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Hello, "tommyad"...

Inspiration is what making music is (mostly) about for me, and I received a boatload of it upon listening to Shigkei's "Coffee Talk" for the first time.

It pleases me to know that some kind of sense of the emotional response to the song that I experienced is shared by people such as yourself who took the time to listen to it. It's gratifying in a big way.

"tommyad", thank you for opening the door to the song and letting it in!

Most sincerely,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Howdy, "gruverider"...

Yes, collaboration certainly "powers-up" the creative juices in a way that I've rarely experienced while producing my own music. It's definitely something I would look forward to doing again!

Thank you, "gruverider", for your "thumbs-up" on the music and the vocals for "Coffee Talk"!

Very sincerely,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
