If The Sun Didn't Shine

Leon - Vocal & Lyrics
I played the guitar solos and sang a bit.

An bluesy song in a minor key about a lost love.

RealTracks in style: 2435:Bass, Electric, NewOrleansShuffle Sw 130
RealTracks in style: 2437:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm NewOrleansShuffleKevin Sw 130
RealTracks in style: 1584:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockShuffleBrent Sw 130
RealTracks in song: ~425:Organ, B3, Background Blues Sw 120
RealDrums in style: NewOrleansShuffle^04-a:Kick Shuffle , b:Ride, Shuffle

If the Sun Didn’t Shine

If the sun didn’t rise tomorrow
And nights were everlasting
I don’t think that I would feel any worse
Than I do right now my darling

When you said those words to me
I don’t need you anymore
Suddenly I couldn’t see
Anything worth living for

If the sun didn’t shine
If the sun didn’t shine
If the sun didn’t shine anymore

If the sun didn’t rise tomorrow
I don’t think that I would care
Cause when the sun comes up tomorrow
You no longer will be there

And without you beside me
All the meaning disappears
Without you beside me
I see only barren years

If the sun didn’t shine
If the sun didn’t shine
If the sun didn’t shine anymore

How would I pass the minutes
And the hours in the days
In a world that’s become monochrome
Only different shades of grey

If the sun didn’t rise tomorrow
And nights were everlasting
I don’t think that I would feel any worse
Than I do right now my darling

If the sun didn’t shine
If the sun didn’t shine
If the sun didn’t shine anymore

Great groove! Love the approach Leon took for the vocal, and the guitar leads are right on the money.

Somehow this sounds a little different from your usual work.
Great guitar work as usual but I particularly like the lower sounding vocals especially in the beginning.

Very cool tune Peter. Guitar was excellent loved the vocal and backtrack. I envisioned John Belushi and the Blues Brothers playing this tune. Very cool

Leon and Peter,

Cool song! I (Alan) always love Blues Rock in minor keys. The piano track on the right pan is perfect. The vocals are clear and interpret the lyric quite nicely. Great guitar work! Great listen, guys!!!

We're listening on the "big system" and enjoying this tune again.

As Janice just said, "I love his guitar, obviously, and Leon's vocal. The harmonies are good and the piano works so well."

Not much to add to that other than Leon never disappoints with a lyric.

Nice addition to the playlist!

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
